I was about to say “45k?!” then realized we pay $27k for one baby...so yeah. Jesus babies are expensive.

Did anyone see the Superstore episode where Amy had to come back from work pretty much immediately after having her baby? It was heartbreaking and really called attention to some of the challenges working women with babies have in the US.

HOLY SHIT. I will stop complaining about my $14,500 for 2 kids last year. Jesus.

I can't believe I had to scroll all the way to the bottom until I found a comment about maternity leave. It's just surreal to me, a non-american, that people go back to work so soon after having a baby. But americans are so used to it, it doesn't even enter the conversation. Instead everyone is upset she  couldn't

I am fortunate enough to have a job where I have my own private office in which I can pump, and do so multiple times a day without anyone giving me any trouble about it or frankly even batting an eye. I’m jealous of your daycare benefits though, the costs for mine are legit shocking (almost $45k for 2 kids, which is

I used to work at a Walmart tire & lube garage where it was very much against the rules for someone to be working in the garage alone. That didn’t stop them from scheduling only one tech for hours at a time on a regular basis.

What if Federal law dictates that they can't do that? Mind blown, right??

I didn’t realize until my sister had her first just how involved pumping is. That shiz takes forever. I remember one time we were about 45 minutes late getting out the door for something because she was pumping. I was tempted to be annoyed, and then I remembered that I didn’t currently have my nipples being squeezed

I worked at a University that had procedures in place, but apparently they stopped in the male-dominated physics department.  I had to walk 3 buildings over for a hygienic, safe, and private space.

Someone once argued with me that lactating women shouldn’t have any objections to pumping in bathrooms because “milk is just a bodily secretion like urine or poop anyway.” I was a decade away from motherhood at that point, but I still wanted to mix poop in his cereal and see if he continued to believe that milk and

My wife is currently breast feeding and I’ve seen her, out of nowhere, suffer the miserable, feverish symptoms of mastitis after fairly minor shifts in feeding patterns. And my wife works from home with the freedom to pump (or feed) on her (and baby’s) schedule!

I went to a conference a few years ago, like three weeks after returning to work from maternity leave. And work conferences - they’re always like “let our coordinators know if you need anything!” But they couldn’t seem to figure out how to accommodate my need to pump and their coordinator (who was a woman) suggested

This is deeply fucked up and my heart goes out to her, and others in her situation. It’s ironic, “family values” politicians do nothing to actually help families.

i work at an artsy nonprofit and STILL got stuck pumping in a bathroom. there is no hope.

What if, as you were sitting there musing about how she should just be happy to have a job, a toilet fell from the ceiling and landed directly on your head?

By her second week back [from maternity leave], Edgington said the Family Dollar store had scheduled the new mom to work several five- to seven-hour shifts alone, with no one to man the register while she pumped milk in the back. After working two shifts without pumping that left her “feverish, engorged, with sharp

This is a HUGE problem pretty much everywhere, and it sucks. You can get feverish pre-full-mastitis, and it happened to me pretty quickly.

If we’re betting on Andy’s friends who have appeared on WWHL, my money is on Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos as the godparents of Andy Cohen’s kid. I think he loves them the most and seems to have the most natural friendship, except for Anderson Cooper. He’s also seen Kelly and Marc parent. No way in hell is it going to

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I feel bad for Khloe. She can’t seem to catch a break. She’s always been called ugly and fat. Lamar Odom cheated on her. Tristan cheated on her multiple times. If this was a friend of mine I would feel so bad for her.

But if you’re Jordyn, whyyyyyyyy would you ever risk the money/fame/clout of being associated with the Kardashians by making out with some dude whom you KNOW is unlikely to marry you and/or take care of you. Basically, why risk it all for some rando if it’s not like, true love.
