The point of using it on ppl in hospitals could be to "wake up" latent alphas. Stanton would want then as new recruits, or at least they would be less likely to oppose him. You can't be ok with govmnt suppression and imprisonment of the group you belong to.

In my mind FOX did its penance by keeping dollhouse going as long as it did. That show got very Joss Whedon cool in a way that was amazingly far off of what you'd expect a regular network to spend time and money on, but they kept it going.
