6th Gear: An electric DeLorean is on the way!

Ice Scraper.  Don’t drive in the Midwest winters without one.

My daughter laughed and scoffed at me when I told her two years ago that she is getting my base-model 2015 Toyota Camry when she turns 16. Now, she’s begging me to give it to her. My, my...how the times have changed.

A Mini that is actually...mini.

Took the AI straight out of the Forza Drivatars playbook.

You beat me to it!

I used to work for a rental car company, and nearly half of our business was providing cars to the nearby Volkswagen dealership’s customers. Why? Their cars were in the shop...A LOT. ND

As someone that lives in Missouri, I can say nope...it’s the same sea of SUVs and oversized trucks you see everywhere else.

1st Gear (corrected): “Nothing a new BRZ STI Overland Edition wouldn’t turn around, am I right Subaru fans?”

Did anyone notice if there were more aftermarket manufacturers other than Brembo? Not like it matters in a video game, but I remember the Need for Speed and Forza series having aftermarket companies like GReddy and Eibach, and it was a neat little detail how you could add their names to your car’s livery.

Not to pick on Dodge, but the mid-90's Dodge Avenger. Based on the Mitsubishi Eclipse/Plymouth Talon of the time, it lacked the turbo-four cylinder engine, all-wheel drive, and manual transmission options. This left it with athletic looks that could talk the talk, and an anemic V6 and four-speed automatic that could

The Grand Tour. It’s really not even a car show any more. Just three old men driving through exotic locales, with equally exotic or quirky cars, telling the same recycled jokes since Top Gear UK.

Business up front, party in the rear.

Anywhere that has a bathroom. Especially when you’ve been driving for 12 hours straight with a minivan stuffed full of kids that have a bladder the size of a pebble.

But will it have damage modeling?

That’s a great thought and I don’t disagree. However, I believe they are a dealer-installed option that can’t be taken off and put back on at will. Might be cheaper and easier to just rent a car for long trips if that option is available.

I think swappable battery stations would solve one of the biggest hurdles to adoption for people like me: apartment dwellers.  I would love to get an EV, but the lack of ability to charge at home makes it a deal-breaker for me.  If I could just drive up to a swapping station when I am out running errands it would be

The front fascia protective “bras”.  Sure, they protect against rock chips and whatnot, but unless you are really trying to eek out that extra $10 on trade-in for a flawless front end, it’s far too ugly to justify having one installed.

Portable air compressor with tire pressure gauge.

No longer needing an oil change every 3k miles or whatever fictitious mileage number the service center puts on the sticker they adorn to your windshield.
