And I would be remiss if I didn’t add this group. The album Hootenanny resonated with me:
And here’s a fun, Happy Draft Day sing-along for all you NFLers, especially you walking-on-eggshells Eagles fans....
The Animals are in my top 20 favourite bands. What do you mean by “high draft number”? The only people I knew who went were my dad and uncle (from two separate families, not related or knew each other) and they both volunteered to go to ‘Nam specifically to get away from their crazy families.
The LiL B track annoyed me, his voice and I’m not a fan of “slow flow” so that didn’t help, but I think he’s a good human so I ultimately let that slide. I just found out that Deltron 3030 released a new album in 2013 (where the hell WAS I?) so I’m listening to it now for the first time. Not too shabby...
I got lucky and drew a high draft number but I could easily have been over there.
Warehouse by Husker Du and Ballot Result by Thr Minutemen changed what I wanted out of music. Thank you, 500 block West Miffilin, Madison, Wi, circa 1986

Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, and Warren Haynes had the privilege of playing that great Etta James tune at the White House.
Boom Boom Boom Boom, I’m gonna shoot you right down, Right off your feet, Take you home with me, Put you in my house.
Tommy James (without the Shondells) with “Tighter, Tighter”.
If you’re a fan of the cult classic film Ghost World, you probably know this Skip James tune, “Devil Got My Woman”
You know, I burned my thumb too many times doing that.
Hey, DUAN! Question for you. I posted a song by John Lee Hooker that I called “Boom Boom Boom” a few days ago. I have been told since then that the true name of the song is “She Shot Me Down”. I’m fine with being set right, but upon further investigation I have become quite baffled. I see references to “Boom Boom”,…
My boys and their first “anthem” hit. Raise your lighters and sing along, mates. :)
I can’t remember what I was looking for when I found this, but it’s pretty cool if you like bluegrass and jams. Hot Rize with String Cheese Incident.
+1 Loved this! Admiring your taste in music in general, mate, you’ve thrown some good ones out here.
I actually spent about 6 hours listening to Madness today. They’ve actually gotten better with time.
Franke and the Knockouts with a catchy tune called “Sweetheart”.
You as well.
