I think Iris has gotten a lot better since:
1. She learned Barry's secret
2. She stopped being a blogger (my eyes can only roll so much)
3. She became a journalist
4. Eddie died. I hated their relationship
5. She stopped being a doormat and told off her mom.

I was always deeply annoyed Giles never got to see what a badass Wesley became. Because Giles always treated Wesley like shit.
