Honestly, the rest of the cast work with what they have, but Samberg makes a dorky face and says something even an amateur comedy writer before his first cup of coffee of the day wouldn't present as a first-draft to a show meeting. Comedy that's actually funny is not the hot thing now, but man, when it's not there

PSH taught us that in Along Came Polly (should have done more comedies, might have saved him).

Though, let's be honest, PSH certainly had more range and more promise than 'squint and mutter in every role' Gandolfini.

When did this fucking article turn into an analysis of 'Whatever Happened to the Man From Tomorrow.?' If the guy can't finish the comic by the time I type this comment, he has way more problems than someone dropping some - gasp!- spoilers.

His docs. are still great (Cave of Forgotten Dreams); his forays into drama are disasters (Bad Lieutenant). This smells of the latter.

I also mentioned the dour roles and health habits. Read fully, thanks.

That was a fine movie; underrated, moving. Not enough pirates in it for you, I guess.

All down-votes for some thoughtful observations on a career? You bitches need to get over being contradicted for your Leno hatred and move on.

In retrospect you could kind of see that Hoffman might check out early. In turn-of-the- millennium movies like State And Main and Mr. Ripley he actually looks boyish and energetic, still enjoying being a rising young star; by the late aughts, as this retrospective series of articles has shown, it was one dour role

Still don't like the extra-long sleeve cuffs. Nix it!

A lazy tired millionaire at the helm of a show vs. someone who actually gives a shit about his audience. You guys always fight the good fight.

The title of the article is rigged to hate him, and all the usual AV sycophants have to get in line to torch a guy who has the successful career they will never, ever have, much less have the guts to stand onstage and tell jokes to millions. Someone's gotta call this bullshit for what it is ("Ooh, where's my dislike

You hopeful losers are dreaming. He has a steady road gig, probably something in Vegas. You don't think he's been in this business long enough to have figured out a million other outlets. Keep tapping the 'like' button on your hopeful, bitchy fantasies.

Oh, get off your little high horse 'despotic roots of Leno's comedy' crap. Is it his fault the basic Californian has no sense of geography or social events? He mines a little humor out of it as people get ready to go to bed for the night, big fucking deal. He comments on Obama surveillance like he did Bush's idiocy,

Well, you obviously have the luxury to putter around with your jokes and sharpen them to their absolute finest. Leno and his writers have a night-to-night responsibility to deliver. They do, their ratings prove that, and every other comic is just too good for the world.

Keener must have been quite devastated by his death
(though I thought Sandra Bullock actually did a more nuanced version of Harper Lee in the follow-up Capote movie, Infamous; a sign her career wasn't completely finished before The Blind Side and Gravity).

Well, if you've ended up here with a snarky avatar, obviously your comedic genius has a long way to go before being recognized by the public at large.

Oh, like the ironic, 'funny because it's not funny' Samberg form of humor. Well, there's that too. God forbid it actually make you laugh.

Fewer dreamlike monologues and more children's pictures in crayon introducing scene changes, I'd imagine.

The French Clooney, that was good
(though the Artist undeservedly devoured the Oscars - especially Best Oscar- that other pictures like the Descendants should have received, and Good Night and Good Luck was only evocative of the '50s in being black & white; the mood and dialogue felt very contemporary).
