I can’t seem to find information easily about her ethnic background. One page says she is of mixed heritage. It seems like she’s more Middle Eastern, going by the last name (?) Either way, the fact we can’t easily tell and her light-skin (which could pass as Greek) means something. She exists with a level of

This was one of the best calls I’ve heard. So glad I got to hear more about this hero! I almost felt sorry for them getting the aggressive calls. But then I remembered the 600 people killed without accountability and now trying to re-enact 1960s Selma, Alabama.

In some cases, yes, voting Blue doesn’t do anything. But then in other cases it does. We don’t really know which ones. Like in the case of the midterm elections in 2010, where the Democrats lost the House of Reps and then in 2014, the Senate. And we can see how that beauty turned out. Whether we think the election

Gotcha, I must missed that. It was a good tweet & it’s valuable to be posted on its own.

I’m not saying we HAVE to try to burn this down. It’s for the people who WANT to burn something. This is both a symbolic and productive way to express pain from systemic racism.

The UDC building is one that deserves to be destroyed. It’s a very unnecessary structure and shouldn’t exist in this day and age.

I thought it was positive and powerful. It adds a complex take to this conversation. For her to put herself on the line to contribute to her community - it really helps to connect her to her roots.

I feel like Halsey’s tweet was benign yet powerful. I don’t see the need for her to delete the tweet, but it is up to her and she has personal reasons for that. It was a great way of acknowledging her privilege, sharing her experience with feeling somewhat disconnected from half of her heritage, but she’s also

I wished that they actually thought this through because mommy-bloggers are the worst. They only  did this because of backlash.

The fault of influencers with the products they’re promoting - it’s a murky situation, I can get behind that. But unless they actually went to the island and got to experience the cheese sandwiches & FEMA tents, they’re not victims. They were paid for the service vs. the customers who shelled out thousands of dollars

Somehow the underwear thing bugs me the most - it’s so f-ing weird.

Every single section of that sentence is murder. They didn’t end her why firing squad, but our system willfully put the conditions in place so that it can happen. I don’t know what would have been worse between the two, probably giving birth while dying & being abused all the way up to that point.

It went away very quietly!

Certainly in the same watered-down veign of Martha Stewart celebrity brands. The bastardized one of course being Goop. The stupid ones including this one and Blake Lively’s Preserve.

That’s really good to hear; I feel good about a company making a genuine effort

Applause Applause! Makes the world a smidge less sucky

I agree with your comment. It’s very limiting to view superheros only as buff people.

I support Zac Efron retiring from being super buff. He can probably maintain a certain amount of muscles with less bulk. I think that would move him from the range of bro-ey roles and more into dramatic & romantic lead roles. He can re-buff again for things like superhero movies.

You’re definitely not alone in that. It’s as if artists still want to make art whether or not they’re confined. The point of life is to continue with as much normalcy to your routine within the restrictions as you can.

The only time you can do it is at like 2 or 3 am, but goodness knows, that would fuck up your grown-ass adult schedules.
