All of these CEO letters to the dealers feel like a cheap marketing ploy. “Look, we’re trying!” with no actions being taken. If any of these automakers made an example of even a single dealer, the rest of the dealers would fall in line (or do the “I dare you to do this to me” bullshit, which hopefully results in them

You’d be surprised how many new cars are in WV.  Not at my house, but I know a lot of people who always have new, expensive vehicles in my part of the state. Now when you get into the very rural areas, likely much less common.

As a US senator Joe Manchin has nothing to do with local laws. You're thinking of the Republican legislature and Republican governor.

That doesn’t negate the fact that they’re morons & assholes.

Ironically, it was a West Virginia university that discovered VW’s cheating on diesels. They cleaned up everyone’s environment, but not their own.

It’s all about keeping jobs.

WV has almost no farm or range land. The infrastructure is terrible, it took decades and billions of dollars just to finish the interstates. What it does have is natural resources. Companies came in, built roads, rails and ports, and paid the citizens enough to feed their families.

Shows what you know! We do NOT keep electing the same people that allow companies to poison us!

You would think, but WVA has a yearly state inspection & sticker. Therefore all the cars in Southern Ohio and Eastern Kentucky look like that.

What is your complaint here? We are too informed?

Perhaps you should start your own auto blog and not post about bad, car-related bills.

I grew up in Phoenix. It contains all the Midwestern hotrodders that fled the cold and all the California hotrodders that got pushed out by real estate prices.

These actions aren’t exclusive to the EV6, Kia dealers are always trying to pull this crap.

This is purely subjective, but I 100% disagree with you.

“Palm Springs hotel whose nightly rate is likely higher than the value of most of my Jeeps. Combined.”

Make them the same price as ICE and they will be. They aren’t even close today. The payback over time is too slow as well.

How old do you have to get to before you forget how it feels to be young? I’m in my mid fifties (there I admitted it) and I enjoy tales of people tilting their lances at windmills.

thankfully they wont have to pull it outta anything but its platform-mate that already comes in a hybrid variant. They really do need it sooner rather than later though, 22mpg is bottom is bad no matter what category of vehicle you lump it in with

Dustin’s green 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the rustiest, most structurally compromised machine I’ve seen in years

I don’t drive that many miles for the 20 vs 25 combined MPGs to be that big of a factor. The price on Maverick as I’d have configured it was around $30k. I do some off-roading (maybe not enough to justify a TRD Off-Road), and I’m not sure how the Maverick does in that regard. If it wasn’t able to get us to our

They couldn’t even zoom in on this monstrosity since there was such poor craftsmanship.  The companion bike was worse.  The gaps and loose fittings on this Frankenstein leaves Tesla looking like a hand crafted Ferrari by comparison.
