I disagree with the number of >'s you put in. I like the show, but it can be a real mess sometimes.

I think it would be better to pretend that didn't happen. It was a fuckup made by a director with a poor understanding of consent, not a decision by the show's creators. The later episodes of season 4 seem to ignore it, and the scene wasn't rape in the books.

It turns out that different people want different things from video games. Who woulda thunk it!

How much do you want to bet that these comments will be civil and respectful, and lacking in trolls? I'm betting a lot of money on this, so you bastards had better come through.

I like QUILTBAG because it's actually easier to say than LGBT (unless you pronounce LGBT like 'lugbut' or something like that.)

Wait, when did the rebels kill civilians? I don't remember that part.

In the same way, it really pisses me off when someone derisively refers to a female character as a 'man with tits' because she doesn't act 'womanly' enough. Oddly enough, I mostly hear this sort of thing from "feminist" bloggers, even though it sounds like the exact opposite of feminism.

I like Sabrina's new design. This might be a bit of a tumblr-ish thing to say, but she reminds me of Rose from Homestuck.

Or maybe a story where the bold native protects his people and country against an all-powerful empire? It's not a good idea to apply concepts like "whiteness" to the Middle Ages.

Great article! I especially liked when you made some bullshit up about Fight Club to help paint David Fincher as misogynist.

I'm glad they aren't trying to cover their past up. Disney could learn a thing or two from them.

That's how the concept of Limbo came about. Even in the Middle Ages, the idea of babies being tortured in Hell for all eternity just because they weren't baptised clearly disturbed a lot of theologians.

Uncontroversial opinion: Carice van Houten is hot.
Controversial opinion: Leni Riefenstahl was hot.

Can anyone give me a good explanation for why Lena Dunham attracts so much hate? She seems okay to me.

AdBlock Plus fixes this quite well.

I do find it offputting when anonymous people on the internet call somebody ugly, whether the "ugly" person is a guy or a girl.

I misread the article title. For a minute, I thought they had brought in Bryan Cranston to direct.

According to Wikipedia, the term "Final Girl" was coined in 1992, in a book about gender roles in horror movies. I've heard the term used a lot, and it definitely wasn't coined by the Onion.

A twist worthy of R. Kelly's Trapped in the Closet.
