Then just tell me, has “stealing from black musicians from the 30’s” a positive or negative connotation for you? Does this not imply that these guys do something wrong and should stop doing it (=stealing from black musicians of the 30’s)? Weird, how ‘stealing’ can be read as something negative, huh?

Manslaughter carries a penalty of up to ten yaers in prison.

I dunno what made me think that this was about cultural appropriation, maybe it was “stealing from black musicians from the 30’s”?

You’re right. White people should just stop playing music whose origins can be traced back to black musicians. Absolutely no black music for whitey! The same is of course not true for black artists who want to perform music written by white people, like classical music or classical ballet (Misty Copeland anybody).

Totally off the grade school antics above, do bars in NYC really charge $7 for cans of PBR? And people PAY that?

Karen Elson, Jack White’s ex-wife, alleged that he harassed her. She did get a restraining order against him. He also has a shit fit over the kids going to the same school as the kids from someone else from The Black Keys. White has some major issues.

wait. Someone’s upset with Jack Black?

I was thinking along the lines of...

Oh the carnage! There were thick black glasses frames, torn gingham dress shirts and spilled 7 dollar cans of PBR everywhere.

Grow the hell up guys. I like both The Black Keys and Jack White as musicians, maybe they should stick to making music and not behaving like high schoolers.

I think Smith is part of a consortium of half a dozen schools where under very limited circumstances you can take a class or two from a member college but not get a diploma from them. I have a feeling I once knew a guy who took a class at Smith. I also have a feeling I knew a guy who went to MIT who took at least one

Yep. And what do you think is the motivation behind 90% of those people?

So basically they are finding that pledges would rather be part of coed organizations instead of a unisex one?

I strongly suspect you don’t have much experience with Harvard students.

Now women can fully share in the experience of being entitled Harvard assholes.

It’s of course a rhetorical question. I don’t expect women to open any female clubs to men. Not opening all female clubs to men when demanding access to all male clubs defies logic, but logic isn’t in demand, when discussing gender issues it seems.

It’s not a numbers game or a question of whether men want to join or not, it’s a matter of principle. You cannot demand access to all male clubs in the name of gender equality and deny others the same right to your club(s). That defies not only logic but also common decency.

Oh wait, so no opening for male members until a “decent” number of male clubs are opened for female members? Since “decent” is undefined, that either means no opening for male members at all or after *all* male clubs have been opened for female members. Yes sparky, that is the true definition of ‘gender equality’.

So, it should be just a matter of time, until the 5 all female final clubs at Harvard will be open to male members, no?

Hooray now every hyper-priveledged white person can beome a ruling class Brahmin! Progress! Success! This is definitely feminism! Forging feminism through hypercapitalism one step at a time! Everyone who makes more than 700 thousand dollar a year high five me!
