My major nitpick for this is that the lengthy “previously on” which summarizes the entire prequel trilogy in a single supercut, while neat, completely gutted the impact of the first scene of the episode, which itself does a great and complete job of establishing the context for the series.

now who’s playing Hera...?

Can I dream that it’s what they were in talks with Lucy Lawless about?

My favorite part was when one of the henchmen hits a tree branch at a speed charitably called “jogging”, and we’re supposed to believe that it was some major impediment.

Before that, though, Obi-Wan tells Leia that she reminds him of someone he knew, a “fearless and stubborn” woman, making this maybe the first time ever that Star Wars has acknowledged the existence of Padme Amidala since her death.

The young actor playing Leia is great, but the show’s editors made a real hash of the chase scenes she was in. They were so badly staged they looked exactly like those pretend chases young kids love where the adults chasing them deliberately run just not quite fast enough to catch them, and fall over every time they

I kind of hope not. If only because anyone who has played Jedi : Fallen Order has already seen that same arc. Not only that, but the character was ALSO a black, female Inquisitor. And it was done very well.

She was one of the younglings from the opening scene, guarantee it.

Oh, I doubt she’ll be getting a redemption arc. Odds are, she’ll be getting exactly what she wants: a fight against Obi-Wan. And Obi-Wan’s going to kill her.

Star Wars villains, hammy? Heaven forfend!

Reva is good so far, but I’m not exactly enamored with her yet. I think I’ll be much more interested once we find out her motivation; presumably she was abandoned by Kenobi after the purge and has… feelings about it.

I’ve seen some negative reviews about the Grand Inquisitor being portrayed in bit too hammy a fashion, but I totally ate it up. After all the moody low-key characterizations on The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett (which I think worked just fine there) having over-the-top characters in a space opera was just a lot of

Post-Order 66, pre-New Hope.  Around the same time as Rebels and the new Obi-Wan show.

This suit looks absolutely boss. Between this, the Batgirl suit, and the Doctor Fate suit in Black Adam, DC’s costume department has got things on lock.

I’d actually enjoy a Horizon anthology series exploring more of the world whether it be the collapse of human civilisation or what came after.

I’ll just repeat what I said yesterday: I’m pleasantly surprised that the suit is practical and I think it looks great, like he leapt off the page. Jaime Reyes was introduced at a pivotal time for me when I was deep into reading comics. Other than the Texas setting, that first Giffens/Hamner run felt like I was

she’s been cast in the series! she’s still involved!

reboot Tenchu you cowards

Soooo.... after zombies and vikings, we’re back to vampires now? Cool.
