Or, you could just use a USB thumb drive for that and get all the same benefits without the error-prone nature of bluetooth.

Yes, they can. In my state (TX), and I assume most others, the process is through a bonded title. The process is like getting a lost title. You file with the state, they send you a title, but that title is subject to claims of prior owners, lien holders, etc. The time period is three years. If at the end of that time…
And yet people complain about how dangerous EVs are because they are a fire hazard.
Figure out how to pay salesmen when the deal falls through? It's called a salary. Some of the best dealerships don't work on commission.
Is lane splitting safe? I don't know, but after spending some time in places that allow it—one, the locals said that multiple motorcyclists die every day from accidents in traffic (but I can't guarantee that's from lane splitting), and two, the only accident I saw on CA highways was caused by a motorcycle splitting…
My point is that the 'logic' you offer for pronouncing acronyms differently than words doesn't hold up. This is because:
1.) My guess is that 80%+ of people don't know "gif" is an acronym, and perhaps only 2% of people could correctly identify what it stands for. I believe this is true of the majority of acronyms,…
One flaw in the debate is thinking people look at "gi" and make a decision on how to pronounce it, which they don't—mainly because there isn't a decent rule on that. Rather, they look at the rest of the letters, and pronounce that. Hence, most people pronounce gif like gift and never even think about giraffe.
"For many, it's an automatic association: when they see G-I-F, knowing it's an acronym and each letter registered individually, the G is soft, thus the jif pronunciation."
An investment portfolio is like your diet—it should have well-balanced and contain good variety. That includes tax-advantaged & regular investments. Regular investments (non-tax advantaged) are useful for retiring early, like you suggest, but also gives you access and flexibility to funds for shorter-term goals…
This is the first time I've heard the F-16 referred to as "Viper."
It isn't the bags that's the fundamental problem. It's the order of boarding, people not being prepared, and the wrong type of carry-ons being used. The time for embarking & disembarking couple be cut in half if people would just act properly.
True, but twice a year they tow a hotel so their family of four can go camping.

Doug, I've read many of your columns, and I know for a fact that being halfway around the world deprives you of nothing you need to write a 'real' article.
This seems to be true of every car on the road. Everyone seems to love using their fog lights, never mind they can't tell whether they are on or not.
New Fords & Chevys have convex inserts on both side mirrors.
That's nice. That's exactly what I said, actually.
LOL. That's funny.
You're right. It really is that simple, just like it's simple to turn on a stereo and adjust the volume. There are millions of such devices that have never failed in any way in homes across the globe.
Thank you for your opinion. I and my friends are 'mobilizing' just fine where we are.
