Yes and no, some of the plot points “drive” you forward like once you know where Ciri is and are told to find her before the Hunt but otherwise the game acknowledges there is no way your going to find her fast since your hunting clues and meandering a bit is totally fine.

I agree more or less but Skyrim’s exploration was kinda of “game cliches” meaning WAY too many treasure chests were located behind waterfalls but on the other hand stumbling on Froki’s Shack and quest line as well as the Tiara you find nearby that lowers spell cost for all disciplines and the hidden shrine of Talos…

Bah, PC port shouldnt stop you. Just set the game to easy and treat it like an interactive movie, the combat/etc is so dated at this point that even a good port wouldnt make a difference. When I do a re-play I just use my fully geared and leveled character and just blow through the fighting to get to the cut scenes…
