first burn out = weak sauce
Mercedes advantage is significantly more than this turbo layout. I'm guessing the biggest advantages are in fundamentally superior combustion. Higher Tumble ratios, higher turbulent kinetic energy in the combustion chamber that is maintained all the way through the compression stroke....
Changing a part, with out a revision to a part number, is absolutely ridiculous. No engineer in their right mind would ever do that. Quite frankly, they shouldn't be able to issue a dwg with out a revision number associated with it. I wonder if the "new part" is actually any different at all. I wonder if the…
Jalopnik already has one doug demuro, Keep your own style of writing, don't imitate! (ask me how I know!) ALso, 22 miles in 24 minutes is an average speed of exactly 55mph.......hmmm... suspicious! how fast did you really go?)

I love the V8 in the M5, but anything that unreliable and expensive to maintain must be taken off the list. The first evening that you are fixing the VANOS in the garage instead of helping with bath time, and you might as well title this as "cars for first time SINGLE dads"
What is the best metric for "real world" performance then? 10 to 45 mph in the rain? numbers of strippers impressed when you roll up to "da club"?
The numbers aren't artificially inflated if the car can repeatedly accomplish that time. Maybe if the auto manufacturer had to race down a 50 degree slope to get a sub 3.0 second 0-60 time, yeah that would be "artificially inflated". But a turbo 911 that can rip off 50 consecutive sub 3.0 0-60 times, is anything…
In real world driving, maybe a zero to 35mph or 45mph would make more sense. I think I do that about a half a dozen times on my commute in the morning!
Do you really think they are putting 450,000 miles per rig per year? Really?
Punctuation. Your friend.
