I think you’re right, but colloquially, people tend to refer to ANYTHING huge and grand and old and European and made of stone as a “castle.” (Highclere castle is a perfect example. By the time Baroque and Rococo came around castles were not really useful from a fortification point of view and were being knocked down a lot faster than they were being built. I’d hesitate to call anything that was originally built in the rococo style a castle. Palace, manor, chateau yes, but not a castle.
