Killer is human garbage. Can’t blame the victim’s dad. I hope they’re lenient since he had to have been pretty distraught having to be in the same room with the trash that took his daughter away.

He was still an adult, presumably with higher cognitive abilities than a three year old, though. It isn’t like he wasn’t aware of his actions in the way the toddler wasn’t. The lions never asked for him to be there, and they even ignored him until he began provoking them. Just how far should we go to save people from

She was also a first grade teacher, so she was a pro at child wrangling!

I took it as an acknowledgement that trying to interpret Harambe’s behavior now is rather pointless, as what’s done is done and he’s dead.

I just wonder why there’s so much outrage over this one and nothing over the two lions who were also shot and killed last week because some dumbass adult person intentionally climbed in their enclosure, got naked, and when ignored by said lions, deliberately taunted them into attacking him.

I was never on one as a kid (I was not the kind of kid who ever needed to be - I didn’t want to run around, I wanted to be left the hell alone in a corner with a book, even at three) but my mom was one of five siblings so you bet your ass when my grandmother took the kids out they were harnessed. My mom said it was

She’d be so amazing and any fight scenes would be so much better because she could actually do them herself.

It’s frustrating how (the particular extra-disturbing details of this case aside) the outcome is so utterly mundane for abusive men, like the logical outcome (to them) is that they have to kill the women in their lives who are causing them whatever problem they think they’re having. I’ve just read another story that

If their feelings are so delicate that the use of that quote might influence whether they’re on our side or not, they were never on our side to begin with.

It kind of sounded like that’s what you were doing. Unless that was a Patsy Stone quote I’ve simply forgotten, in which case, carry on.

Grooooooooooooooooooooooss. The guy’s only three years older than her own kid.

THAT’S him???? Oh yuck. He looks like a middle schooler. Hard pass.

... is that really something to celebrate?

It was one of those things where I appreciated what they were trying to do, but it just didn’t work. Keira and the costumer slayed, though. The only other cast member I really remember standing out (in a good way) was Domhnall Gleeson. Aaron Taylor-Johnson was woefully miscast as Vronsky, in my opinion.

I love it when costumers take their inspiration directly from actual outfits of the time. That dress appears to be a recreation of the riding habit from Sir Joshua Reynolds’ portrait of Lady Seymour Worsley, just in a different color palette.

And by her own admission she’d been begging her parents to do it since she was three.

You know how there are some celebs you feel are walking examples of the Emperor’s New Clothes? Kate Moss is like that for me. Supposedly she’s so iconic, but I have never understood why. I just don’t see it.

Technically it’s England so she could legally bang a 16 year old, I think. Which is also gross.

Even though I’d read the book they based it from and knew how the story really went I still kept secretly hoping Georgiana and Bess would just say fuck them both and run off together. Those rich dudes weren’t shit.

Gaaaaaah Never Let Me Go is so devastating.
