I’ve heard nothing but praise for Sia’s songwriting for years. I get that sometimes a writer just isn’t the right fit for an artist, but just based off the first single for this current album I really think it would have benefited Adele to work with people who don’t play it so safe. “Hello” is so MOR.

Haha, it sort-of-is-sort-of-isn’t!

I’ve seen shows sold out in my city that, day of show, have tons of tickets sitting unsold on third-party sites. Every single one of those tickets is potentially a person who would have gone and spent money at the venue, but who isn’t because the scalpers have priced them out.

Unless “co-Miss Universes” means trying to marry the runner up, nope, don’t believe him.

But if people can’t afford the prices the resellers are asking (which isn’t money the act/label/management will be pocketing, the reseller will), then they aren’t going to go. It’s just a lot of lost revenue because the resellers aren’t making their money back if most of the tickets they hoard go unsold.

Same. She was on the radio as I was coming in to work this morning and I was just thinking how she’s got such a tremendous voice, but her songs themselves are so weak. She needs a songwriter or two, honestly.

I’ve never understood how it remains legal. You’d especially think the industry would be going after them hard for the potential lost revenue. If fans are priced out of tickets, the acts aren’t going to get those merch sales. They stand to lose a lot of money so you’d think they’d lobby harder to end the scalpers.

I’ve actually become so much more conscious of this recently now that I’m actively job hunting again. I’m employed, but looking for a change. I’ve seen so many postings for jobs I’d love to turn into careers (I do not consider my current job to be one) but there’s always usually at least one requirement on the list

I agree a lot with the second half of this. For whatever reason some jobs are ridiculously undervalued and undercompensated (caregivers, educators) while others are ridiculously overvalued and overcompensated (tech bros). Don’t even get me started on how the world has given up on the humanities.

I thought it was pretty meh but I guess I’ll see if it gets better. When the big feminist revelation of the episode is going to a party where all the women get their compacts out and have a gynecological peek up their own skirts, I’m not really expecting much, though.

I’m really not cool with their assumption that anyone over a certain age probably already has it. Deal with on a case-by-case basis, sure, but blanket assuming anyone over 26 already has HPV seems lazy, stupid and dangerous to me.

I really hate how this really, really looks as though the FDA isn’t prioritizing it because it’s just women and their lives, so who cares?

You could have a party, and call it La Fiesta de Trumpiñata, and it’d be HUUUUGE.

I’m pretty sure Martin Shkreli isn’t allowed anywhere near the cool kids’ table either.

From the exchange I don’t get the impression these guys are friends, and you wouldn’t use it to address someone you’re not tight with.

And he still got it wrong.

Dunno Kara, I think that tweet needs some pumpkin spice to really hit its whitest potential.

It is a great one, and really the only appropriate response to that defense. Thank you for making it!

In order to actually fall in, were that actually physically possible, I don’t think gigantism is the problem.

Falling into vaginas?
