If it’s one of the general scents you can order what they call “imp’s ears” that are sample-size vials. You can either pick and choose your own from the general catalogue or one of the pre-set packages based off a particular scent family from this page:

I LOVE most of the Georgette Heyer books I’ve read. There were one or two that bored me or that I didn’t like, but most of them are funny, witty and very entertaining. I also would recommend the Glamourist series by Mary Robinette Kowal that Eldritch mentioned.

I love the Mary Robinette Kowal series! I really loved Susanna Clarke’s Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell when it came out, and Kowal’s books inhabit a very similar world.

True, as a loose stone it would be impressive but on that setting it looks like a gumball machine prize.

I wonder if duct tape is allowed in carry on baggage. I’m flying tomorrow and I just want to be prepared so we don’t have to make an emergency landing if anyone acts up.

I wonder who the $22 million sucker was for that tacky thing. It hasn’t turned up on a Kardashian finger, has it?

The only really necessary accessory for this is red lipstick. It has to be red, this is non-negotiable. But the giant bracelets are nice too! I’d go with the most futuristic, sci-fi looking one you can find. Those big block-heeled platforms we all had in the late 90s are back in too, so that would take care of the

I covet that Mondrian lego thingie.

I haven’t read that one! (I know, I know...)

Haha I never noticed that before either! But yeah, I see it now.

Ricky Whittle. He’s a regular on “The 100” now apparently, which I don’t watch but may have to start.

Reticules at dawn!

Oh, I don’t defend Heathcliff at all. I think he and Cathy are both terrible people who are terrible both for and to each other. They’re basically addicts who can’t quit each other and end up mowing down innocent bystanders in their path of destruction. And yet that’s why I love it so much. It’s an absolute mess of a

Little bit of both! Check the clips posted upthread, one is an actual scene from the movie where Keri Russell’s character starts playing “Hot In Herre” on the piano because it’s the only thing she knows how to play. The other clip was played during the credits.

Which Bronte? I like Wuthering Heights but can’t stand Jane Eyre. Emily >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Charlotte, imo.

I loved it, even though I didn’t care much for the book it was based on. The movie’s much funnier!

Ummm kinda jealous! I’m not sure about doing all the dressing up myself but I love people watching these kinda things. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride (and giving me the perfect opportunity to break out some Austenland gifs, natch!). Can’t wait to read all about the ball.

Kim Cattrall spoke on the same topic today on BBC radio. She also made the great point that you don’t have to be a biological mother to be maternal. (I’d also like to add that it’s also totally okay to not be maternal if that’s not your thing.)

Ewww. I’m glad the girls know this is bullshit and called them out on it.

Oh, I see. I thought they meant her using a more gender-neutral name by going by J.K. instead of Joanne.
