The zipper merge is fine when there are two lanes dedicated to supporting it. I hate the dicks who see the exit lane is backed up and scoot up to almost the ramp, then have to stop and wait for someone to let them in, fucking up yet another lane in the process.

You have a misunderstanding of what the zipper merge means. You seem to have stopped reading at “use the open lane to the end” to justify your inconsiderate behavior. If the continuing lane is stopped, you are not zipper merging by speeding down the closing lane.
