it was obvious when I did a little mental math.

It is well documented that over the entire lifecycle of a car, from raw material sourcing to end of life disposal, the carbon footprint of manufacturing a given car is something like 10-15% of the car’s total CO2 emissions. The vast majority of any vehicle’s emissions come from the operation stage of life.

Um.

That would explain the breaking down, but until it catches on fire, I’m not thoroughly convinced.

Eh, I think there’s a few things above replacing the starter solenoid on the flow chart to solving a no crank/no start condition, but most of them involve poking around with a multimeter instead of asking some rando walking by who hasn’t even looked at the car.

I’m surprised that no one mentioned cars remaining driveable after taking huge jumps.

Back in the 90's when I was just getting into my teens, we didn't have facebook. Instead my mates, school friends, enemies etc, communitacted with CB radios. Most rigs were set-ups in our bedrooms with Station-Master antennas (I had a Megatron). We urban kids with CB radios can draw many parallels with social media
