Yeeeeah, can’t help but notice there’s been absolutely no talk of that round these parts.

(And for the record, I think criticizing Harris over this issue is fine, but it is pretty glaring that *this* piece gets published and there’s absolutely nothing said about Sanders *directly* saying the n-word.)

*Airlines do not let larger pets in the cabin.* Numerous people have pointed this out to you, so you are absolutely trolling, but clarifying it yet again for the poor sap who comes wandering into this thread and thinks this is a realistic alternative.

I love (sarcasm) how you toss out “rehoming” as if it’s an incredibly easy process that doesn’t have its own issues and problems, and as if it isn’t incredibly heart breaking to owners to lose pets they’ve maybe had for years because they have to move. “Never have a pet because you might move” is an equally dumb

You actually can’t buy a seat for a dog; the only way a dog can fly outside the cargo hold is if they fit into a small crate that can be stored under a seat. I’d LOVE if transporting my dog was as easy as “buy a seat”; I’d happily spend the hundreds of dollars for peace of mind. But because she’s 54 pounds, it’s cargo

Big reason I appreciated the Captain Marvel movie. She actually did weight lift for about as long as the male Marvel actors, and she and her trainer focused a lot on upper body strength (as opposed to say, glutes and abs, though obviously there was some of that.) She *looks* built and sturdy and I LOVE it.

Same. I heavy lift 1-2 times a week, and have built up *slight* muscle tone in my biceps, chest and legs... yet somehow my trapezius looks like an elite gymnast. I have to carefully select my shoulder and back exercises when I lift, otherwise imagine a pretty sound round body with the neck/higher back muscles of the

I was listening to the 2nd half of the album for the first time last night as I was running. I hit “Soon You’ll Get Better,” and just started *balling*, right there on the treadmill in the middle of the gym. My dad was diagnosed with kidney cancer and went through major surgery (open heart, had to remove a thrombus

I legit loved “I Forgot You Existed” for its sheer pettiness and nailing *exactly* how I’ve felt about a few exes (both romantic and platonic that went badly.) Maybe not the best music/singing, but the lyrics hit right into the sweet spot of relatable. And “All my enemies started out friends,” ooof, same.

I remain surprised that nobody aside from me (and you!) enjoyed “I did something bad.” It is *so much freaking fun* to sing, and it’s just the right amount of pettiness murder for my last few break ups. Really, why don’t people like it? I’m convinced if somebody aside from Swift had released it, people would love it.

To be fair, the person who said that also said this: “Megan Reynolds: I went into the album as an avowed Swift-hater, out of principle rather than anything else.” Some real flimsy justification up in here.

Agree with your post, though a follow-up also true: Sarandon has brought a lot of heat back onto herself by sticking herself in the Sanders spotlight yet again and making snide attack-y comments about Warren. (When she claimed in 2016 she’d happily vote for Warren.) I had mostly gotten over my anger at her until she

Might be regional; I’ve visited about 10 of the Y’s in the Twin Cities areas and all of them have had pretty good weight rooms. A lot of the Y’s at least here in MN/WI were re-purposed buildings, which seems to lead to reduced area for lots of equipment, but the equipment has always been new and well maintained.

Mine is $110 for two adults. However, most insurance companies give you a discount if you go 12 times a month; mine chops off $30, and there’s rarely an enrollment fee, so it ends up being cheaper than most of the gyms in my area. (For comparison, a Pure Barre membership is $150 a month.)

Fuck this administration and fuck us for facilitating this. Over and over I hear justification for these sorts of raids because illegal immigrants “take up resources.” These were clearly hard workers doing a job most “legal” Americans won’t do, who had families and built communities and contributed; the only, ONLY way

No, but hand-waving away cruel comments about weight should be factored into the “pretty fucking amazing.” Equation works out like Pretty fucking awesome - cruel comments about weight = awesome in some specific areas and needs to own privilege (or maybe is now according to other comments, yay), not = everything he

Well I mean, considering that the awful boss in Lindy West’s “Shrill” was based on him and she wrote this article directly to him in 2011, it... kinda seems like “made some mistakes” is a pretty light way to put it.

Glad to hear it. I listened to his podcast and read his column all through college and a bit after (2003-2011), but had to finally switch off because he seemed to revile people like me (vanilla straight fat girls.) Very pleased to hear he’s come around to not automatically associating weight with disgust.

Have you seen some of his comments about larger people? Nah, he can be pretty damn cruel.

But it isn’t just the centrists. 37 of the 97 members of the House Progressive Caucus aren’t there, either. (That’s a decent 40%.) CNN counts 93 Democrats out of 235 currently calling for impeachment inquiry, and not all of them are progressive. This doesn’t seem to be a purely progressive/centrist split. If this was

I mean we could also maybe call our reps in support and explain why impeachment is necessary to our “I don’t pay attention to politics” fellows, so that there’s such a ground swell of support for impeachment the Dems happily jump behind it (since everybody acknowledges Pelosi is pulling the brakes due to lack of
