Oh my gosh, are we *finally* going to acknowledge on Splinter that the black vote was suppressed, potentially pushing the election to Trump*, AND that there were in fact real life Bernie Bros like Carter trying to splinter the left**? This is truly a miracle.

I am so with you on this. If I was a millionaire who could hire a nanny and wrap the kid in plastic, I’d have a kid in a heartbeat, but since none of those things are true, I’ve been fence sitting. My boyfriend is also a perfectly balanced fence sitter; I worry more about the money, he worries more about the endless

Yep. I fail to see what is wrong with holding primaries where Democratic candidates are pushed to the left, and then whoever ends up prevailing should have the whole united left moderate/progressive behind them. Like seriously, what is *anyone’s* beef with this strategy? (And I say that as someone who gets constantly

I’ve been really enjoying watching each of the Senators you mentioned (and Ellis! and Randy Bryce! and Sheldon Whitehouse) cycle through issues/Trump critiques on Twitter, each of them highlighting issues that seem close to their hearts that others aren’t addressing, and sometimes all coming out hitting hard on the

Ya know, this is actually why all the far left talk about needing a New Deal makes me uncomfortable; the New Deal was (at least partially) successfully by *completely* leaving out minorities. Middle/working class white wealth has been built slowly and surely by stepping on other middle/working class workers, whether

Yeah it’s considered about 20-25 pounds overweight; 110-120 is considered ideal. I don’t necessarily buy into BMI (but doctors and insurance companies sure do), but 140 lbs at 5'1" is a BMI of 26.5 (over 26 is overweight), whereas at 5'6" it’s 22.6. That’s a *big* difference.

Could we maybe... not with this? Cause I do these things too (started eating way less; I now eat somewhere between 1350-1500 calories with under 80g of carbs and 100+g of protein; exercise 5 times a week by running 2-3 miles and lifting weights, and walk about 1-2 miles a day; I don’t drink alcohol at all) and haven’t

>Looking at you, NIMBYs

Thank you, I started wondering if I had somehow just heard incorrectly when it first came out and it all got cleared up off stage somewhere but, nope... nope, totally hanging out with white supremacists and the whole “I was infiltrating them” holds zero water.

“If an unattractive woman does the same thing, there might be silence or insults, but some guy will finish his drink and take her home.”

I am a woman who doesn’t fit society’s beauty standards, and while in some darker moments I may blame society (which, ya know, includes men), most of the time I blame *myself.* My highest level of hatred was reserved for me. It was “Well of COURSE nobody wants to date me, look at my fat stomach and my thin hair and my

But that’s making an assumption that Marvel isn’t going to go in a different direction with the sequels. Everyone loved Black Panther but the *character* of Black Panther was widely considered the “weakest” part; people have complained endlessly that Peter Parker has been done to death. Wouldn’t this be a fantastic

Kinda sick of constantly seeing people complain about how the deaths didn’t “mean” anything because they weren’t supposedly real or authentic. The logic for the deaths not being real is that the characters HAVE to come back because sequels and what not, but that’s assuming the sequels don’t do anything interesting

“SO many people missing the point about the deaths. Yes, I’m sure it feels great to brag about how much smarter you are because you know they’re coming back... and how everyone else is stupid... but it’s not about YOU, it’s about the story, the narrative.”

I don’t think they’re going to use the Time/Reality stones at all.

I relate to you super hard. I got my pup at 7-8 weeks, and she almost immediately started having UTIs. She was on different types and dosages of medication for nearly the first 6 months, and every time we’d try to take her off the medication, the UTI would flare back up... so it’d be another vet visit, another $60

Fuuuuuck your sister. Not only is what she’s saying cruel, it’s also flat out illogical. I mean, *everybody* knows bosses are only there to be nice and tell you your performance is spectacular when it’s not; businesses absolutely don’t care about things like productivity and doing a good job, they *only* care about

I am confused by your post, since you answered your own question? “When where and why were there a surplus of males... there are 105 males for every 100 females, but there were more adult women because men died... from war.”

Other interesting tidbit (though this is from a book, Unnatural Selection by Maria Hvistendahl not from the article) is that Americans seem to be leaning towards choosing for gender, but it’s overwhelming *female.* There’s a good chance America/the West is where the surplus of women will be.

Having a dog is one of the top 3 singular joys of my life. It’s going to be so, so difficult to get to the end and have to make the calculations about not having a dog in my old age because I might die within the next 5-10 years.
