I’m a couple of chapters into “The Boss”, and it’s pretty decent (love Jenny Trout; can’t really get into the MUCH older hero, though.)

That’s a Hollywood fantasy, not actual reality. “Wrestle power”? How the heck would that even work, especially when Dems get severely punished from all sides whenever they cough? The Dems are not freaking Jimmy Stewart who can come in and somehow charm a government into changing its rules.

can do is link arms and say “No” to literally everything to limit the damage the GOP is going to do”

Except they’re NOT held accountable! Dems were blamed for the last shut down by something like 40% of Americans; Trump’s approval rating is still holding firm despite hiring an abuser and refusing to sign Russian sanctions. We Americans are the ones who are supposed to hold Republicans and Trump responsible, and we

“The Republican base turns out because the Republicans stand for things.”

Sheldon Whitehouse references 6 billion?

“Now I’m angry at Democrats too for failing to do what they’re there for, which is competently represent the rest of us.”

“Why does it matter who you are MORE upset with?”

“Why pick the fight if you don’t mean to fight?”

Except... they didn’t do the equivalent of that. I mean if there’s any equivalent it’s the story of the scorpion and the turtle/frog, who are both bound by their natures (to sting and to logic/trust.) To use your analogy, the mongoose also dies, not because it directed the snake to your bed, but because it let the

OR, alternatively, they got huge amounts of disaster relief for Puerto Rico and actual funding for the opioid crisis. Education, infrastructure and medical research all got huge boosts. But hey, don’t let facts get in the way of your moral outrage. I’m sure you’ve done a LOT to be politically involved, and did

And you’re probably going to be angry at the Democrats for being “gullible” over Republicans who lied. Oh, and be angry at Democrats for not somehow fixing the entire thing on slim leverage over Republicans who created the mess in the first place.

And as much as we make fun of the Republican base, they show up for their party, and make sure they actually have the power to enforce the laws they want. Liberals and progressives apparently can’t even be bothered to get off their asses and vote OUT Republicans.

“The deal does not address immigration, which angered some Democrats, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who made headlines Wednesday speaking on the House floor for more than eight hours about the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals immigration program, and voted against the bill. Dems wanted

“s the nation willing to make those choices?”

I would have agreed with you until I saw the poll numbers (nearly half Americans blaming Dems for the last shut down; Dems themselves split about shutting down government over Dreamers; majority of Americans *not* favoring shut down; people blaming Dems for shut down last night even though it was Rand freaking Paul

You’ve got a point; both the media and the Democrats are awful at calling out the bizarre Republican messaging.

“ the majority of the country supports liberal policies, the liberal party keeps losing elections.”

“Where are the DNC reps helping people get registered?”
