Nope, I just accidentally cut the rest of the sentence and pasted it somewhere else without noticing, then hit enter. Clearly I was paying a lot of attention.

Eh I thought 1989 wouldn’t be too entertaining, and it was a blast, at least partially because of the light-up bracelets. It probably won’t be a “performance” on par with Gaga or Beyoance, but I think it’ll be a lot more slick and produced than, say, Katy Petty or Miley Cyrus.
If it helps, the same thing happened to me for the 1989 tour; the issue is Ticketmaster, not the artists themselves.
That’s the venue where I’m going. Last time it was at the Xcel Center (18,000 capacity) one city over, and it’s waaaaay smaller than US Bank Stadium (66,000 capacity). (There were 2 nights though, as opposed to just 1 night this tour, so maybe it all evens out?)
Oh good, I am not alone.
You wanna see white washed, you should check out Madonna’s “W/E.” It’s fucking awful on many levels, but the lengths it goes to trying to erase Edward and Wallis’ Nazi involvement is horrible.
That is an incredibly convoluted counterpoint. And even if a shut down temporarily hurts some contracts, it still harms vulnerable people more, and still plays well with the Republican base in a way it *doesn’t* play with the Democratic base. It just isn’t an apples to oranges comparison.
But Obama gave those concessions because he cared about things like federal employees getting paid and government functioning, and Fox News viewers eagerly ate up the idea that the government shutting down was his fault. Republicans don’t care at all about employees starving or government failing, and if called out,…
Heads’ up, it was a play: not sure if it’s been filmed or performed other places. Looks like there is a book version, though:
Just watched a Pride and Prejudice sequel this weekend called Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberly that was pretty adorable. Mary comes to spend Christmas at Pemberly with the Darcy’s and Bingley’s, and while still rather socially awkward and know-it-all, she’s also developed a strong sense of self and what she wants…
It’s interesting that she choose this as a lead single, but there are other songs on Reputation that are sooooo much better. “I Did Something Bad” is amazing, and “Delicate” and “Dress” are both sweetly romantic while kind of melancholy. LWYMMD is easily the weakest off the album. Wonder what her plan there was...
Yeah my household here in Twin Cities, MN is at about $150k, which I thought was “rich”, but the cut-off for being just in the top 5-10% of household incomes is like $200k. Damn, in *Minnesota*??
I am betting so much money on this; I completely buy the rumors about her and Karlie Kloss. I really do think she’s bi, and can’t wait for her autobiography (even if I turn out to be wrong!)
Like right here, at the site we’re posting on right now. (And still are buying into the toxic sexist even now, frankly.)
While I defended Swift on this particular cover, I couldn’t agree more with you on this. Minority women deserved their own cover (why didn’t they do multiple covers? Or include, like, everyone, instead of singling people out and forcing the conversation away from the beautiful article itself to debating whether X…
No problem. I noted it just cause it annoyed the fuck of me, because Swift really CAN be a problematic white feminist; there is a valid conversation to be had about her privilege, and it’s co-opted by trolls. Fucking hate it.
Dude, the poster is a troll; I think they’re trying to bait you. They also said this: “I placed my son on hormone treatment so he wil better understand and be sensitive to women’s needs.” “Magazine covers oppress women.”
Okay, but she also spoke out; she also broke silence. She could have left the courthouse without any comment after she won, but she didn’t; instead, she acknowledge the privilege that let her win and voiced support for other victims. And again, I think her speaking out was incredibly powerful, given the age of her…
I’m not very good at legal reading, but I thought she had been warned off from speaking about the case; Dr. Luke’s legal team threatened to drag her to court over an Instagram post that didn’t even mention him. It could be she was asked, and declined, because she didn’t want to take further legal risks?
No, actually, she wasn’t. She was one of the first supporters of Kesha when news came out about Dr. Luke, donating 50k to her legal defense; Kesha says she’s a sweetheart and always answers when called.
