I haven’t watched the original in ages (my mom was a HUGE fan so we watched it repeatedly through my childhood), and I still remember “Oh yes, Vicky and her electric hips!”

I work up in Blaine and live right across from North Oaks. I wanna hear about your rich white city. :D (Always fun to run into fellow MNs, hello!)

Your SATC parallel seems accurate. I freaking love Molly, find Kelli hilarious, Tiffany kind of grating, and fluctuate back and forth on whether I want to cheer for Issa or strangle her.

Dang it that sucks!! I love your commentary there. I think I can ungrey people with stars? I’ll try to ungrey you whenever I see you.

Let’s be honest, Beyoance doesn’t get enough credit, period. Lemonade should have won all the awards for the rest of the decade. As big a star as she is, she should freaking be even bigger. Sorry to stan, just drives me crazy how so many people hand-wave away how talented she is not just as a performer, but as a

The only reason we found out she donated money to Kesha (when no major artist had stepped forward with anything but moral support) was because it was made public by someone else, after an entire weekend of Demi calling her out on Twitter.

I’ve heard tons of stories like yours, of her donating quietly to non-profits,

Good to know he can’t remember the woman whose naked body he put on display in a music video.

So did I! I will -stan with you. :D

Oh my yes, it takes a lot of patience if you screw up a lot (like I do!) Luckily I’ve started to slip into an almost zen like meditation state when seam ripping. :D

Is true. I resisted makeup and pretty clothes for years because I thought “serious”, smart girls don’t care about that frivolous stuff. Then I learned that sewing the pretty clothes requires a freaking lot of math and spatial understanding, and that makeup requires skill and artistry, and it’s FUN. If my kid ever has

I hate most of her music and I’d totally buy that. Her Jolene cover was pretty fantastic.

Ah, so do even MORE, because the 1-2 hours a day I dedicate to exercise isn’t freaking enough??

Kaaaay but in order to increase your muscle mass (and thus your BMR), you have to increase your calorie intake in order to feed those muscles. So if you’re eating a very low calorie diet, you’re never going to be able to build enough muscle mass to increase your BMR, and thus you still have a “slow” metabolism. Your

Unless they’ve screwed up their metabolism by yo-yo dieting or routinely eating under 1200 calories; eating 1000 calories without doctor guidance is very risky, as it teaches your body to start eating into muscle and going into cycles of starvation.

Again, if there are people with high metabolisms who can eat a lot

Well like I said, I’m 5'1" and 130 pounds, so not that far off from the woman. I have 26%ish body fat, so doesn’t that imply I also need to lose weight/body fat?

I routinely eat 1200-1400 calories, lift* twice a week, run 3 miles twice a week, and do 15-20 minutes of yoga a day, except on Saturdays when it’s 45-60 minutes. Why am I not profiting?

Thank you for acknowledging that. I work out way more and eat much healthier than many of my guy friends who can just... drop one junk food from their diets, and boom, lose 10 pounds. It’s so frustrating to be a woman (and a short woman too, which makes calorie intake even more of a nightmare.)

Is it never possible that some people just have slower metabolisms and just can’t restrict enough? We know there’s such a thing as a high metabolism, and people who can eat tons of food, even junk, without *gaining* weight; why is the opposite not possible?

There are points where you literally can’t restrict any further without doing some serious damage to your metabolism.

God I love her.
