Eh, I think Tammy Duckworth is thriving in the face of equally difficult circumstances.

My concern is that Greatest Generation Republicans are better than Gen-X republicans on a lot of stuff. Democrats are pretty linear in quality but middle aged Republicans are worse than their elders. Millennial Republicans are starting to look like an endangered spices though.
