Starbuck’s is pretty commonly known as the most ubiquitous “public restrooms” around the city. A west village location personally saved me from a bad sushi emergency.

I live in a closet in NYC and I LOVE getting out of the city to an actual house with a yard! I smell a Holiday style house swap...

I’m also white and felt the same fatigue you did, but I will say it does break out of “more of the same” with the expert way they cover the cycle of abuse. I think it’s worth it for that alone and being blown away by Reese Witherspoon in addition was a happy accident.

Just want to say good luck to you and especially your friend. I’m glad she has your support and I hope she’s able to leave safely.

Nope, still doesn’t make sense. Would the optics really scream inappropriate if Pence was having a public one on one dinner with DeVos for instance?

At least he actually sold his business

Sonja and Dorinda FTW. Ramona’s is a runner up and also just soooo Ramona.

A wedding that truly makes it about surrounding yourselves with the people you love with no obligation to them?! Blasphemy!

I think there is a growing trend of people having small weddings/ceremonies and a larger reception after the fact, but usually they are explicit about that. I also don’t think that entitles the couple to a gift at any point either. I think sending a card and bottle of champagne to a wedding you were not invited to

Yours is probably the only wedding I’d genuinely want to be in.

There is literally a “free speech” comment right above this from someone called “IspeakAmerican” ughh

Yes, it was President Obama’s last White House Correspondents Dinner in office.

I really appreciate this take, I felt the same way, but I do agree it’s important to keep it in the public consciousness because obviously, we’ve* not only not improved on these issues, we’re regressing.

This whole thread is amazing and now I want a feature where people share completely unintentionally and hilariously inappropriate things they’ve said to people.

It took me a minute to get this, but once I did, GOLD JERRY, GOLD!

Thanks for sharing this, it’s heartening to know there are still good people in government who take their jobs seriously. I think “you’re not Jack Bauer so stop pretending to be,” is great advice for just about everyone.

I’ve long been aware of his diminutive hands, but I never noticed how stumpy his arms are as well.

I’m part of the NYC populace and this single act of racially motivated violence has instilled terror in me. And I’m going to go out on a limb and guess I’m not the only NYer now afraid they may be killed by a stranger because of hate.

One, I can’t at all blame them for beefing up security after Kim’s harrowing ordeal and Kendall’s burglary, and who knows if Kendall’s would have been worse if she’d been home.
