Most movies, from Rambo to Top Gun to practically every other action film ever made, are explicitly right-wing. Even classics like Die Hard (aren’t guns great?) and the first Back to the Future (wasn’t the 1950s great?) have an insidiously conservative bent.

I’m going to watch it as a parody of the gradual destruction of Star Trek’s themes rather than as a real Star Trek movie. Hopefully, I’ll get some laughs out of it.
