The fact that Logan and the LADB are not only back, but apparently soak up a significant amount of screen time, is the sole reason I have yet to even attempt to watch the revival.

Animation seems to draw a certain class of people who are either really good-hearted and cheery people or complete misanthropes, it seems to be how you came into animation. For some it’s a passion that absorbed them, for others it’s a retreat from reality where power fantasies provide their basis.

As a middle-aged nerd, I keep getting more and more pissed off at the level of misogyny in the media and hobbies I love. I will work to put a stop to this wherever I find it, and I hope my fellow nerd guys will, too.

Sadly, that is the point that many people speaking out lately have been focusing on. It is not isolated to a few industries, but pervasive across most of them. It does strike a chord, though, when it directly effects people you really admire and whose work you enjoy.
