Why can’t the steering on the base car not suck? Also it doesn’t seem to matter how much you spend on a BMW they are all lacking feel. Look at the reviews for that 6 figure m4, especially the bit that the grand tour did.

The software can only control how much boost the motor gives to the steering. You can’t remove the rubber from the linkages with a flash drive.

It wouldn’t be that hard to give enthusiasts the option of more steering feel. It would be less work than a sport suspension. They would literally need to change some bushings and possibly part of the linkage to bring back decent steering feel.

Want to know what makes it even worse? That electric steering rack is from ZF. It’s the same unit used in the Cadillac ATS. They could have easily given it feel on par with an e90 and instead they tuned it like a Hyundai.
