I know two white ladies who openly voted for Trump to “dump the swamp.” Not sure if any other issues that they liked, but this was the only one. It was after they had already voted so there was no point in chastising them.

Been listening to Minnesota’s The Current all day long. It has been my relief, they’ve played such songs of hope and just a few fuck yous, like Deap Valley’s Smile More promptly followed by Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song.

I don’t think that Trump reached people emotionally. He reached them at their most base and primal level: fear. He instilled in them that if he didn’t become the next president, they would all be going to hell in a handbasket. He catered to their white privilege and how it was being stripped away from them. I’m going with guys really don’t know what women have to to deal with. They think that since their life is pretty okay (especially white male and aren’t living below the poverty level), that the ladies must have it okay too.
