I know you call people like me out, specifically, multiple times in the article, but I just cannot fathom a vehicle like this. Pickup trucks are for people whose jobs require them to haul things around. If you’re driving a pickup truck and rarely / never using it for pickup truck things, you’re a poseur and people

The natural progression of where trucks are headed. People want a 70s luxo-barge ride with that much space and room while being able to pretend that they are going to do something useful or trucky with it. Gotta be able to tow that $190k wakeboard boat twice a year!

This is the fear-mongering garbage that all of the anti-EV dummies reference every time the idea of battery wear comes up. You end up with a bunch of razor-sharp takes like this:

If that private organization feels you are doing something that violates your principles..... sorry.

Agreed. If you’re not upbadging, why is it cringe to give the car the name it had in its domestic market? If anything, the Acura -> honda example is DOWN badging. Its not meant to impress you, that’s literally the point.

The rest of the list though, yea all that needs to stop.

Disagree on the foreign market badging. A notable example is KIAs old logo was terrible in the US, but the KDM badge looked kinda cool. Who cares if non-enthusiasts don’t know what it means, it’s not for them.

I think the “run forever” thing is always a bit exaggerated. I’m not disputing they are reliable, but a 1998 anything with 200,000+ miles is going to require putting some money into it.

These remind me of my time with 4x4 Evo 1 and 2.

Eh, I’ve seen enough content of people immediately putting wheel/tire packages on the CT to say otherwise. I bet before long plenty of factory fresh CTs will fall victim to same choices endorsed by the bro-truck crowd.

“this is just a issue of when a “offroad/work” vehicle becomes a mom carrier that does no real work and needs efficiency on the normal roads.”

The venn diagram of people buying Cybertrucks and people driving on original factory tires until they are bald is just a circle...

this is just a issue of when a “offroad/work” vehicle becomes a mom carrier that does no real work and needs efficiency on the normal roads.

I know production on the Cybertruck just started a few months ago, but IMO it’s not too soon to wish this blight upon the landscape to die a quick death.

Kia Soul is an excellent vehicle for say...someone who just graduated college and got their first job. It’s also one of the extremely limited number of vehicles that still starts under $20k. The old turbo model was even pretty quick.

they weren’t AS profitable

Unless the home cook amortizes the kitchen/dining room portion of their mortgage/rent as well as insurance, taxes, and the value of their own time for shopping, cooking, cleanup, gas for the car, etc, it isn’t fair to compare the cost of eating at home versus eating out.

This was always and obviously a scam. Anyone who didnt see it was a moron or getting paid not to see it or both.

Hyperloop was always a bullshit vapourware.

could give Chick-fil-A grounds to say the law violates its religious principles.
