I hear it al the time on the subway in Philly, I can’t imagine it’s any different in Atlanta.

No, that IS something blacks here in Charlotte, NC say every day on mass transit, as well as many more aggressive, derogatory things. Just because a people wwas oppressed and think they still are does not give them license to act like anti social barbarians in public. Instead of criticizing the man due to his…
Try riding the Blue line metro in Los Angeles sometime. The shouts of “I hate white people”, constant fighting and openly smoking pot might change your opinion of these little angles. Your only chance for peaceful travel is to get on a car loaded with working folk who just want to get home and will tune up any…
You must never take public transport.
like, this was my rent, which I just spent on this thing that’s not happening.
Oh give me a break. For some reason the link to the source is broken for me right now, even from Wired’s site, but it appears that this is about a group of kids at Northwestern, yeah? It’s not about the universe of hackers on the planet.
No it’s not—a micro-aggression? It’s not targeted at you in any way. Not everything in the world that makes you feel slightly uncomfortable is a micro aggression. And not everyone has to ensure your comfort at all times.
Does it really imply that? Does these young men’s potential to “shape the world,” necessarily exclude other people from having the potential to shape the world? This headline seems like a really silly thing to be up in arms about, sorry.
His article was idiotic, but I felt your response is not being constructive, so much as it is poking fun at his lack of understanding, it’s the difference between being a journalist or a comedian. Plus saying “y’all killed him” is acting as if every white person is evil because a white man killed MLK, which is…
I don’t know, I’m a little bothered by the tendency among feminist sites and blogs to pick apart actress’ statements to make sure they’re politically/ideologically correct, and trying to shame them into being sufficiently ideologically pure... I mean, it’s clear from Moss’ statements that she’s on the right side, why…
This strikes me as insane.
I’d be one thing if Peter Thiel filed dozens of frivolous suits against Gawker and they went out of business paying attorneys just trying to keep up but that’s not the case. Gawker had their day in court they lost, they filed for an appeal it got denied. I don’t know why people think the Hogan case was some insane…
It ruined very real private lives of the individuals involved. Hogan was just one person. And it did defy an order. It wasn’t up to Gawker to decide if it was constitutional or not. They had other avenues for challenging that. Instead they did what their lawyers would have told them not to do.
Your statement is predicated upon Gawker being a legitimate news outlet. It often behaved as a tabloid that ruined lives, and not a news outlet.
The fact that Gawker did something sleazy and that his response was disproportionate and no less sleazy are also two facts that can be true at the same time.
He most certainly was. He had a grudge against Gawker and he waited for the right opportunity to litigate them to hell, since his own situation wasn’t a strong legal case. What he did was completely legal, and Gawker was in the wrong for what they did to Hogan. That wasn’t even the shittiest thing they had done. I may…
Agreed, Gawker made its own bed.
Also donating $100,000 was Peter Thiel, the man who sued our previous owner Gawker Media out of existence.
Wow, this guy just can’t stop killing people.
