I’ve driven one, and it was the worst car I’ve ever driven. Seriously.

Yeah if I was going to drop $4500 on a convertible, it’d be a Miata. Yes, we know; the ‘Baron has a backseat but nobody wants to be seen riding bitch in one of these, guys.
Okay there has to be more to it... what does BMW provide that’s worth $80 / year? What above-and-beyond feature comes with it? Any basic headunit can do this now.
I love the idea... but if it’s like my Miata, the doors become structural when closed. As long as it doesn’t cause issues there, it’s a great idea...
Even if it only runs *sometimes*, it’s a good price. Barely, but a good price.
Challenge accepted! :) I had fun ripping through the Appalachians in WV a couple weeks ago. I was in the Miata, and other dude was in a regular 500. We weren’t exactly racing, but we were both clearly having a lot of fun.
I hate them, but not for 8k and low miles. This would be a good around-town car and I’m half tempted to just do it. It can be a pretty big pile of shit for 8k, as long as it usually works.
God I remember being blown away when the ‘93 Camaro was released. Kid in my class got one (I was 16 at the time)... just a V6 automatic, but I was so impressed with it. It didn’t age well...
haha nah I’m saving THAT for the actual event. ;) Just drove up to the side door... they were waiting on us on top of a ridge in a white Silverado. Took our pics, ripped some sweet donuts in the rented Camaro convertible, and took off back into the desert. Grabbed a burger at Little A’Le’Inn.
What are the Karens driving? Don’t we need a specs for a Honda CRV?
Been to the gate. Teased the camo dudes. That’s all the excitement I want out of Area 51... I did sign up for the invasion, and I’m sure I’m on a list because of it, but definitely not gonna partake.
I rely on the Karens to gain access to the base management.
Cinci is a pretty good city.
Driving around Bavaria, I noticed that a lot of farms have 3 series wagons... didn’t see any pickups aside from one giant Ram. Sort of blew my mind after a week of tiny European cars.
My dad was a state trooper back in the day... he’d randomly bring home different vehicles sometimes. One day it was an undercover detective car, but the best was the K-5 Blazer. I knew my dad was a bad sonofabitch when he came home in a fully-marked K-5. Light bar, decals, everything, and it was cool af.
Wanted one for ages... got a Miata, and nobody seems to see me (or they just hate me now). Definitely nice to know this shit will be documented if anything goes down. Best thing I’ve ever purchased.
I think it’s nuts my podunk town in Indiana got them before they did... They’re fun as hell, but a fucking blight... I went to Dallas in April, and as it happens they RECENTLY got them. They had Uber, Lyft, Bird, and Lime (We only have Bird) so I could test them all. I rode them often to get to the convention center…
Yeah that isn’t at all bad! I’m already planning my NEXT Miata purchase, and I’ve only had this eight months. The day my wife said “Get something you enjoy driving, I have the practical car!” was the happiest day of my life. ;) Turns out she loves this car as well.
To a lesser extent, cargo pilots... no passengers = no passenger comfort to be concerned with.
100%... I would *not* treat a pristine NA this way, but the NC, regular GT model? It’s a dime a dozen, a BLAST to drive, I love it but I didn’t spend so much that I worry about it... I’m going to drive the hell out of it. I paid so little for such a great car, and I know I can replicate this.
Your company doesn’t make anything. It’s a Jeep; how do you not know this?
