I haven’t followed the suit closely, but I don’t think Nokia is actually a supplier to Mercedes. I suspect this is the “patent licensing” (i.e., patent troll) arm of Nokia that holds many standards-essential patents from when Nokia was a major cell phone manufacturer, which is enforcing their patents against Mercedes

Hey I only washed them every week and one of them technically belonged to my girlfriend...

Wait- are you me?  I had the same problem with the CA DMV and a BMW I bought from Portland, OR.  It was a nightmare.  Since then I found a third-party service that handles all DMV services and gladly pay the fee.

As someone that will be in this market some time in the next year - high powered GT convertible - and that has already actually called Tom to discuss the market and alternatives in this space - this might be a good deal if you already wanted an M8 but I doubt it will make anyone that wasn’t already looking at an M8

The Scout is cool, but below is what looks like a 65 or 66 Conti with the 462. If anything the mileage on that is worse than the Scout - I barely broke 8MPG on the highway in my Conti convertible. Not that it matters as much in the USA even in CA.

This is an excellent point.

I enjoy the thought experiment of would you rather be middle class in the west today, or the Roman Emperor Tiberius. He lived to be 77 which is pretty good, and was the undisputed most powerful person in the world at the time. And he lived a lot of time in Capri, which is pretty damn nice. However, he still had to

Sorry to hear about your parents. Good luck in LA!

I’ve driven plenty of cars back and forth to LA and many in LA. The only ones that I got any good attention in were a Maserati GranTurismo and a 66 Continental Convertible.  Get the classic, put modern air in it, be awesome.

Me personally? A Cayman. But I do concur at least the M2 should count as doing what BMW should be doing.

I have owned the following BMW cars all of which I enjoyed:

Starred for Jack’s and also for remembering last time I went back how much the Claremont had changed - man that restaurant is good.  I used to go there in the 80s and 90s and you definitely wouldn’t put something from there in your mouth unless you had a death wish.

Never knew Henry Winkler made the rotary in these.

They should revive the Stutz marque if only because Stutz Bearcat would be a great name for an SUV.

I probably flew SFO <-> SYD 30 times in the hump. Best seats on the plane in my opinion, with a dedicated FA for upper deck passengers.  Plus, even at many decades old, going upstairs on an airplane always gave me a little bit of a squee feeling.

This looks really cool, but I’m not a super bike rider.  Is there a cafe racer style electric bike out there that is really good and that I could consider using to replace my R90S?  I love the vintage BMW, but it would be nice to have something that was clean, quiet, and less maintenance intensive than a vintage bike.

(1) I always pictured Torch as WAAY younger than me so imagine my surprise when I find our we are the same age.

If the answer is Georgia I don’t you lived out in the country where I grew up, or you didn’t count the ones on the trucks.

Right! I test drove one before I bought my Cayenne.  The Cayenne was slightly more.  And the Bentley was a worse vehicle.

My question is: how many years before you can buy a real Cullinan for $35k?  I bet it’s not that far from 50% off right now for used ones.  My guess is 2030.
