I’ve been to Palm Beach dozens of times. How the heck do you get the truck out there on the sand? Also the run or walk from there to Barrenjoey Lighthouse is tough but great and the view is awesome - and you could have totally seen this guy being an utter wanker from above.

Dog is my co-pilot.

Pretty soon I will be replacing my i8 and my M6. I’d like to replace them both with one car that will satisfy my interest in having something interesting and exotic and something that is a 4-door with decent trunk space that I can loan out to friends, combined with the fact that the M6 is *just* to big to be

According to Tech Talk in the latest Roundel, you can order BMWs without run-flats now. I feel like you were likely fed a line of BS.

Beverly Hills Car Club! What could go wrong?

Only a good rule if I can pace behind them when they are doing 110 with their lights off.

“Then a police officer came running to my Jeep, beaming his flashlight into the passenger’s seat, as if to look for something. I was a bit concerned; I had no clue what was going on.”

I’d already have one if that were true.

That’s it Renault! If you’re not bringing your Alpine here to the US, I’m not going to buy any of your other cars either.

I’ve got a 1964 New Yorker that I’ve owned since I was in college. For the last 10-15 years it hasn’t been driven much and for the last 10 it’s been in my uncle’s shop. But that car was reliable and odd (and fun!) transportation when I was young, so I’m committed to recommissioning her. Then I’m going to go for a

Somewhat worse. But it didn’t ever need to handle at all above 60mph unless you dropped it out of an airplane, so that’s a plus. :)

I used to own this 1949 Hudson a couple of years ago and drove it quite a bit. I was surprisingly reliable.

Maybe I’m too optimistic generally, but I have faith in our institutions and that the long arc of history bends towards justice even if some days feel like they go in the other direction.

I was actually in London last year when the US election took place. I went into the office the next day and all the Brits were making fun of me - I was like, hey folks, Brexit is forever, Trump is max 8 years.

I have a mechanic that has worked on most of my out-of-warranty cars for the last 10+ years, including installing a lot of go-fast parts. Even so he always tells me when he is going to do high-speed, cornering, or acceleration testing (not in those exact words necessarily). So I feel like I’ve assumed the risk that

Starred! Everyone keeps telling me how the VAG group has perfected the robe-manual transmissions. I’m definitely not convinced. I know the DCT in my M6 has been disappointing for similar reasons to those you cited above.

The Alfa assuming long term testing doesn’t reveal serious defects and they aren’t lying about HP. (Place your bets!)

I’ve test driven a few and driven a few owned by friends. The problem I have is that I’ve owned 2 cars with robo-manuals that were fine on the test drive but I grew to dislike badly. I’m borrowing a friends’ 911 - which I’ve driven before but only briefly - for the next couple of weeks to test it out.

Cool. I have driven them. You know what happens when you assume?

I was actually hoping for a torque converter automatic due to my prior bad experiences with robo-manuals.
