This is the same as the Opel Lotus Omega right? If so, then sure. That was the first super sedan I remember reading about in Motor Trend or Car and Driver back in the day and thinking that it was really cool. And if I’m honest with myself, 4-door super sedans (you’re a sedan M6GC, marketing be damned) are really still

I’m firmly on the side of the trailer owner here, although of course his neighbors have the right to petition the government for a change.

Counterpoint: It’s awesome and glorious. It looks like product placement for a Tron movie!

Was it space gray with blue stripes? Does it park on 1st St. near Oxbow? If so, it was probably me.

I think he sold it because he saw the pricing writing on the wall. And he wasn’t wrong - I got a comparatively great deal on mine. The owner of BMW SF did the same thing even though he liked his.

I own one and I sort of agree. You don’t see a ton of them, even in tech-friendly SF.

A co-worker has owned a current generation E63 wagon for several years. It’s been dead reliable for him. I drove with him from LA to SF a couple of months ago and it was super comfy as well.

Hey, that’s just like my dream!

In Europe, at least for BMW, you can order parts drop-shipped to you or your mechanic directly from the manufacturer for your old cars. At least back to E9/2002 era. For the last 5 years or more. No dealer required, and no possibility of markup.

Thank god I hate yellow cars, because I love these too. And it would make an epic road trip to the left coast.

They are making a limited number, not everyone is going to get one that wants one. It has nothing to do with hating rich people - which, for the record, I don’t. It has to do with hating anyone that feels entitled to limited production stuff. If he’s actually insulted he didn’t get chosen, his priorities are terribly

I haven’t really seen or heard that although you might be right. As far as I’ve ever been concerned Ferrari can pick its purchasers any way they want to. For example, I know someone that tried to order a 488 a few months ago and told he would probably not get it for a year, but if he bought something else he would be

But was he also denied a new Ford GT? And is he whining about that too?

Actually you missed two of my favorites, the pre-war 328 and the i8 (although I recognize the latter is somewhat controversial). I also think there are several modern BMWs better looking than the E46, including the E28 M5, E30 M3, and M6 GC. I also like the 1M but it’s purposeful rather than pretty.

Right? I like the E46 but it’s probably not in the top 10 BMWs.

How do you like the S1000RR? I was seriously considering one, but ended up with an R90S because I figured I’d kill myself. :)

As a big BMW fan and owner/past owner of probably more than 10 BMWs, I completely agree with you that BMW is bad when it comes to reliability - especially when compared to Mercedes. I’d argue that a lot of the awesome engines of the 90s and 00s - the S38, S50, S54 - are ridiculously good motors, but they still have

Bummer, but I will definitely follow you there.

I was JUST wondering about this last week when driving my M6 back from LA to SF in 110 degree heat. My waters got hot pretty fast - why isn’t this cooled and heated?

Just take a pic, they don’t actually do anything to you. I went there a few weeks ago and saw this prototype for the Tesla Model C.
