Rian Johnson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Maybe that’s a cheat because Levitt is in every Johnson movie. But I’ve also liked every Johnson movie soooo...I’m gonna stick with it.
After Nacho and now Howard, I think this show has made Mike less likeable or respectable than when he was in BB. I wonder if that’s what they intended.
It’s four years later that happens? Saul immediately going to Lalo and Nacho after that long is stretching believability a bit much for me.
Other than Spiderman, I don’t think I’d heard of any other MCU character beside those you mentioned before they were released. Maybe they were bottom-of-the-barrel, but to the casual fan I imagine they were still more well-known than anyone since (e.g., Shang-Chi, Dr. Strange, Eternals).
I dunno. Is there a fictional band within the new Thor about which AV Club can do an oral history?
I don’t think they’re just taking kids to see whatever is out there. Kids didn’t go see Lightyear and most kids movies don’t make anywhere near this kind of bank. People seem to really like the Despicable Me and Minions stuff.
“John Michael McDonagh (of the hit 2011 film The Guard)”
Full disclosure, I didn’t read the original article. I pretty much just came for the comments. haha For what it’s worth, my recollection of “Pratt” preceded the MCU. I know I heard it on the Parks and Rec commentaries and anytime I’d hear Mike Schur refer to Chris Pratt. Okay, maybe now I should read the article.
I can relate to this. No one calls me by my first name either - not even my spouse. It sounds weird when it happens. I’ve heard him referred to as Pratt many many times by his costars.
Thanks for the reply. I suspect you’re correct about embryos commonly being discarded. As a non-Catholic, I hadn’t considered the dissociation aspect.
Is just using IVF inconsistent with being against abortion? It always seemed to me it was the discarding or selective abortion of embryos that was inconsistent. I know pro-life folks who used IVF. However, they also chose to implant all of the embryos over time. There is no “discarding” of anything.
World’s Ugliest BMW is a fierce competition!
I dunno about going for the voice actor, although having famous people voice animated characters seems to be the standard these days. But this change makes me not want to go, in that not having Allen means this is a different character. Allen’s Buzz is an iconic character. This new Buzz is something else. I’m not…
I took it more as praise of the actress and a joking dig at Cooper. Cooper clearly didn’t find it funny.
That’s quite the list! Yeah, I’d rank just about any of those ahead of Cooper. I never would’ve guessed he had 7 nominations. I never found his work to be all that special, but the Academy disagrees with me.
The director might have a point. Who was the 3-time nominated actress?
“In 1995, Andy got a toy from his favorite movie. That movie got its ass kicked by Laura Dern.”
For whatever the reasons, it’s definitely a disappointment. Elsewhere I saw expectations were $70 million. That’s a pretty big miss. It didn’t beat Top Gun - a movie in its 4th week of release - by that much either.
Employees have the right to engage in “concerted activities” for the betterment of their workplace. This includes criticizing the company. You’re right that it’s not a 1st Amendment issue; it’s the Fair Labor Standards Act.
