Vox Machina was pretty good though.

“Arguably, we’ve already had the “perfect” D&D movie thanks to Peter Jackson’s adaptations of The Lord Of The Rings in the 2000s—which, if I’m being honest, do chart a bit too close to “action movie” for my taste”
I remember when I first saw all this guy’s stuff, all I could think was “expanded wipeout universe”, and now I really want like a huge open world wipeout game...somehow lol.
Ukrainians are definitely hardcore. And they have now earned the respect of the entire world (except for Putin’s so-called “Russian World”, of course).
Exceptional work. Thank you for telling this story, Sisi.
As much as we might want video games to be something separate from the events and struggles of the world, they are—like everything else—intimately connected to what’s happening all around us. Thank you again for making those tethers more visible in this piece.
Seriously, you can blend it with mech game and make customizing loadouts part of the gameplay loop. Would be easy to really make you “feel” like Iron Man with building and tweaking your suit. You wouldn’t have to go as deep as like an Armored Core game where you’re spending hours balancing your engine’s calorific…
Screw Superman, make a good Iron Man game already. He’s a great character, and the fact that he uses a tech-based armor (or rather dozens of versions of it) lends itself extremely well to a video game. Seriously... HOW IS THERE NO AAA IRON MAN GAME YET????
Polyphony lost me at GT5 and I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon.
Wait… you don’t see the issue with needing to grind 20 hours for one car? In a full priced game? And we’re not even talking about some reward at the end of a campaign. It’s one random car that you will need to race the same tracks over and over for 20 hours to get.
From everything that’s been said about Polyphony’s approach to racing games, I get the sense that they really want to push this idea of exclusivity. Whereas the Forza games are about being opening to poeple who might not necessarily be into car culture...Poly very much likes the idea of their games being an exclusive…
Just theorizing here, but we’ve seen over the last couple decades licensing costs on music skyrocket to the point that game remakes sometimes have to ditch the original soundtracks or certain tracks. Its very possible that car manufacturers are doing similar things with licensing to make more $$$ off of an industry…
A game that requires an internet connection even for single player mode is a total no-go for me. This is just stupid.
Remember in the first Dark Souls when there were stats in the menu that didn’t actually do anything and FromSoft was lying for a year before patching the game to fix it?
I’m sorry, it’s 2022. We’ve moved on. You missed your chance to be pissed at Demon’s Souls for this back in the Obama administration. We will not be entertaining these complaints at this time or trying to give you tips on how to have fun with From games. Life is too short.
There’s literally a button called ‘More Detail’ or something which tells you at length what each stat does.
They do, actually. I’m not sure what the keybind is on keyboard or a PS controller, but with an Xbox controller, on any menu the View button pulls up a menu with a couple options - one of which explains elements on the screen. You can use that to see all of the explanations on all of the stats (and other stuff too).
If this actually happens, this would be cutting off their nose to spite their face. This war won’t last forever, and if/when the Russian people do...something about Putin, eventually business will come back.
You did yourself a favor cause if minor stuff like that bothered you so much you probably wouldn’t have made it out of the first area.
I don’t like the way From does things, because the explanation is always things like “They want players to figure it out” or whatever, but that isn’t what happens.
