I’m old enough to remember when professional writers (especially journalists) would define the terms they use. If I were younger I would have heard the term before, but Ellie might not realize that some of the people she’s writing for haven’t been on a college campus in longer than she’s been alive.
Go a little more over the top and maybe people will listen to you then.
Because I think activists are eroding due process, and I think that’s bad. I also think that presumption of innocence is a good thing, even outside off a court of law, just as I think “free speech” is about more than just the first amendment.
Far more people agree with my assessment than yours in just this very short period of time. Far more validation than I’ll ever need.
If you’ve ever been a party to any university disciplinary hearing, you’d know they should never, in any conceivable form, be considered evidence of anything let alone wrongdoing. All of the essential hallmarks of due process are completely removed from university disciplinary hearing. You’re not allowed a lawyer,…
IVe heard of mischaracterization.in support of a fallacious argument. You (should) know how big that word “if” is in an apology, and it’s not there. You are projecting what you expected it to say, rather than appreciating what it does say.
When I’m at work, I’m here to work. Not make friends. Not fuck around on Facebook. Not jerk off using the tears of a bald eagle as lube. I’m here to work.
A girl in India was raped and burned alive this week, what are you doing posting on this and not worrying about that?
Then call me 99% fucked up, because if my job is to win basketball games then that’s all I’m going to care about on game day.
You clearly have no understanding of the sacrifices you have to make in order to be a student-athlete at the D-1 level.
Go check the SI article. The coach was specifically sitting in a quiet space 45 minutes before the game when he was approached by the reporter. He certainly could have phrased it better, but it’s not unreasonable for someone to prioritize things differently during the day.
This is kind of ridiculous to blame the team for supporting their friend before a trial. If he was convicted and they still supported him, that’s another story. If a friend of mine was accused of something I’d support him until he had his chance in court and I was told more about the details. Did they have video of…
Really? Its before a huge game and he needs to be the leader of the team. It wasn’t the time to get into the allegations. It was shit wording but he wasn’t wrong.
I’m a current Yale student and have heard that the reason he was expelled so suddenly and mysteriously is that he finally decoded the Voynich manuscript and it turns out to be a Trump/Cruz slashfic. His threats to publish it as a 13 part series in the Daily News is what sealed his fate.
that hasn’t stopped this site from presuming guilt!
isn’t it possible that he denied any wrongdoing, they believed him, and then collectively lost that belief?
I mean, is he TRYING to fuck over his old company? I liked his stuff a lot, but Jesus, man, show some respect and restraint in court. Being a smart ass plays great on Deadspin and Gawker. Not so much in court.
Speaking of terrible things, Daulerio seems to be fine with posting sex tapes of anyone 5 or older!
Happy International Women’s Day everyone!
