yup

I don't know any of those characters

The issue is back in the day PC games were not digital distribution. It was the same as consoles. Then we moved away from used games sales and now we get cheaper prices. Becuase the companies are greedy.

If they lower the price once people stop buying it, BAM more money. In fact one time I almost bought dead space 3

Steam has been letting us sell the game at 60$ to start. When we ship out copies to gamestop and such. And them for the PC release, most AAA titles have been dropping after about... 2 months.

At that point everyone who wanted it right away has bought it, so by lowering the price, it's like seeing a movie cheaper in a

Nope, and in my opinion that's a big problem. Right now there is a gap where PC games get cheaper faster. However There is going to be a new console, the Steam box. It will be a 400$ console with a games library that's just cheaper than the ps4 or xbox one.

*note I fully expect them to fall in line with letting us

Steam box.....

mind blown?

The problem is you can't buy a console game off steam. So gamestop gets to keep the console price high because not everyone has a PC. Why do you think value is releasing the Steam box to get into console gaming....

They want to release a no used games console and no one is getting mad at them... >.>

You understand if

Right but as stated i the article game stop tells them to not lower the price or they won't carry the games. This is why bioshock infinite had to launch at 60$ digital.

whoever now that the rush is over, the company will no longer made a dime on retail sales. Because there are so many copies people will now just use

No they won't, what? Dead space 3 is allready 35$, there are no used copies of dead spae3, it's jsut cheaper becuase less people were buying it.

It only took a month to come down in price. It is still 50$ at game stop, but it's only 35$ on PC

Gamestop sets the price

When games are 20$ on steam they are still 50$ at gamestop

Gamestop can't lower the price because the used version of the game is still selling hot.
Does it make sense yet?

Bioshock is 40$ on steam because it was selling less new copies , now it's selling more again. If you lower the rice of the new copy then you can't

That is what happens , look at PC, there are no used PC game sales.

Bioshock is allready 40$

6 months in duex 3 was only 5$ on steam

don't make ME laugh

Bioshock infinite is already 40$ digitaly, 60$ at gamestop

Deux 3 was 5$ on steam less than 6 months after release and is staying at 10$

AAA games being sold at cheap still makes us money because we no longer need to print boxes and disks and risk money to sell them.

OH! right, Dead space 3! Dead space was just 30$

Sonic generations looks 50 times better than this...

It's the first Sonic the Hedgehog game of the current generation of consoles, technically

WHAT?

Used game sales kill any chance of a Pyschonuats 2.

However steam brought it back for 10$ and it has made millions. Used games kill small titles. Even older ones, those companies wouldn't have to keep firing everyone if they could make money off games that were 4+ years old.

Listen when you buy a used game you don't give any money to the people who made it.

The people who make it thus have no price control. Game stop sets the price of bioshock infinite at 60$ while on steam it's 40$ allready.

The lack of used coppies of bioshock on PC allows for this massive and quick price drop. Let more

um no it's a fact, Gamestop told us we can't lower the price or they won't carry our games, what part of this is hard to understand?

how hard is it to understand? No box, no disk, we can sell at whatever price we want.

Used games have to be sold at a price to make the retail store money. That drives up the price of new games. That drives up the prize of new games!
