I think the thing is, some women have come to take the term as offensive on thier own accord. It's offensive to them because they have trans phobia. If you think "trans" woman is just a term used to describe someone and it's not offensive to you, then you should't be offended to be called by a label too.

when I went o a party my friend asked if my wife my cis sexed. It sure didn't come off as offensive, she was just curious. I'm trans and we're getting married. But hey, you really can't tell someone is trans most times.
