"There's a huge amount of competition launching this year (Honeycomb, Playbook, Palm, etc.) "

Tout battery life? Does anyone actually know what the battery life of the Xoom is?

You can repeat it however many times you like but it doesn't make it true. Demanding the best deal from suppliers is very, very common. Hell, Amazon is planning to do it on their new Android App Market.

"Apple doesn't provide a service, they provide a sidewalk."

"Publishers are signing up with Apple. They don't develop their own apps, so they're out of the equation from the get-go. "

"So they are left with 3 choices, as I see it: 1) Suck it up and make no money on Kindle books sold on iOS devices, hoping that it can make up the money lost by providing the apps as a value-add for Kindle book users; 2) raise prices to make up the difference so they can continue to make money; 3) say fuck it and get

"Sorry, but game consoles are single purpose devices, not utility devices whose popularity was built on the diversity of its app library. "

"If this were true so many subscription services wouldnt be pissed that they no longer can make a profit "

"Maybe you haven't noticed that many publications are simply going out of business. I'm willing to bet that cutting their margin a full 1/3 would go a long ways towards putting the rest out.

I keep reading from Apple-haters that content makers will be forced to raise prices across the board or decrease the value of their content to make up for Apple's subscription surcharge.

"What exactly is Apple providing these developers? "

"Apple is in the wrong, and this is an antitrust case, and dont say "they dont have a monopoly" the strength of the app store is great enough to force out competition, which is anticompetitive.

Developers make money from ads on iOS than on Android

Demanding the best price on ones store is actually very common. Amazon plans to do it with their new Android Store for instance.

Becuase many of the biggest apps AREN'T cross-platform like Netflix. And many of those that are cross-platform have inferior versions on Android like the Kindle app.

Why is the iPad cheaper than the competition?

"I just wish Apple took better care of the companies and services that helped make the App Store as good as it is today. "

The problem with your "mass pullout" strategy is that it'll cost them tons of money. If content providers could make as much money on Android, Apple wouldn't have had the leverage to do this in the first place.

"While newspaper publishers are locked into a Saw-esque trap for survival on the iPad, Apple is outright screwing Amazon. .."
