Isn’t the simpler explanation that this was insider trading? Musk personally drove up Twitter shares, his friends and associates undoubtedly made a whole bunch of money selling their shares, and litigation over him tanking the sale will be tangled up in court for years.

I’ve met him several times in my past life in journalism, and he’s a smarmy and chilling dude. Thinks he’s really slick. He’s also about 5'6” and I towered over him and I felt like he always made it a point to not stand next to me so that no pictures captured him looking small. 

My take is that Musk never had the liquidity to swing the deal in the first place. He made the offer, then realized he couldn’t afford it after Twitter took him up on it. Now that he finally came to the conclusion that they have zero motivation to give him a discount, he’s pulling out.

I don’t know the 10-year-old’s story, but there’s a decent chance her rapist was a relative. But sure, ramping up policing would have stopped this crime that might have happened in her own home, in her own room. 

What a vile piece of shit. He should be forced to meet in front of the press with that 10 year old girl and her parents (assuming they’re not the rapist) for an hour.  

Republicans love to create strawmen to pass their ghoulish policies, but when a real tragedy happens because of said policies? “Personal responsiblity”, “thoughts and prayers”, “sometimes these things happen”, etc. The cruelty is the point.
