it doesn’t feel slow. Seems like starting in 2016 it’s been jumping to hyper speed.

The complete lack of prosecutions for it shows it pretty much already is.
I would say women should refuse sex as a protest, but then the SC would make rape legal.
Watching this slow errosion of our rights it killing me.
Which is the best non-profit I can donate to to support the delivery of abortion pills (underground railroad)? I don’t have tons of money to donate, but I want to do what I can, knowing it might change at least a few women’s lives.
they should stop paying comedians millions of dollars for their shitty specials.
I feel bad for the cast and crew of The Flash. Too late to recast and too expensive to put another actor’s head over Millers. Too late to get Christopher Plummer too.
Although I feel for anyone losing a job, I have a feeling those 300 people will look back and be happy they were let go before the whole company implodes. I’m in it for Stranger Things and then I am out.
If the current price I’m paying becomes the ad model, I’m out for good.
I don’t care what the friggin’ Supreme Courts says. Every state should codify that the police are here to “protect and serve” the public. I would also make it perfectly clear to anyone thinking about becoming a cop that yes, it’s a dangerous job sometimes, and yes, you could be killed. I would also reform police…
Honestly, Cooper comes off as the dick in this story, thinking that Oscar noms means he’s somehow entitled to respect from his peers.
You know when you’re getting a lecture from Will Arnett about personal reponsibility, it may be time for self-reflection.
Stone shares with Noam Chomsky (who also had bad takes on the Ukraine invasion although he has backed away from some of them) in that they are blinded by their attempt to dismantle “American Exceptionalism” and the idea that the West is inherently good to notice that sometimes Russia (and China) actually *are* worse…
Stone is definitely that kind of asshole. He also strikes me as being insecure and terrified of being eclipsed by the younger generation (exacerbated by the fact he hasn’t mad a decent movie in a couple decades).
That’s not how Cooper comes off in the podcast. It’s not that he felt he deserved some special respect and was surprised he wasn’t getting it. It’s that he’d be supportive and congratulatory of anyone else’s work, just out of basic cordiality in the least, and was shocked at how dickish and petty some big stars were.
Oliver Stone seems like he’d be a prick. He’s defended Putin multiple times, but what sticks out in my mind for some reason is when he was on the Nerdist podcast a while back. It was a really weird interview to begin with, but at the very end of it, he stood up and said, ‘Is there a bathroom around here?’ in a really…
The producer of Natural Born Killers wrote a book about the making of the movie, and she noted Oliver Stone’s “uncanny ability to put his finger exactly where a person is most sensitive” and use it to dismantle them. This is extremely on brand for him.
“It takes time to warm up to seeing my vagina,” she jokes. “But you could look on the internet.”
“As a parent, I oppose abortion” is nonsensical, plenty of parents have both given birth and had abortions.
