I actually misspoke in my original comment, and grossly underestimated how long consoles have been doing voice chat. The Dreamcast had it in 2000, and the PS2 in 2001. You’re absolutely right, though. They’re not forcing anyone, but they’re certainly not going to try and dissuade anyone and are, in fact, encouraging

Not surprised. As a majority of Xbox users I know bought there system mostly for online play. Xbox kind of has a reputation for being the ‘social’ system no? I prefer watching Ninja or Shroud. Both are ridiculously good at the game, have entertaining friends and voices that don’t want to make me hit them in the face repeatedly.
