Bungie's head of FUN DEVELOPMENT is one.... Mr. H. Itler.
The same kind of people that complain when a game doesn't "punish" them enough. People just don't seem to understand that purposefully adding in negative experiences to normal gameplay only adds disappointment and frustration. Just look at Dark Souls, you have to die twice in order to incur a penalty and the only…
Interestingly, Diablo 3's story was just about as lazy and poorly written ("OH, DECARD!"); and, I completely gave up on that game after my first play through too, even after having waited 10 years and preording the Collector's Edition.
IT HAD NO HEART.
LIKE DESTINY.
I thought the exact same thing. How's it a god idea to give a person a legendary engram that is a rare item that's useless. I'm still convinced that it was decided upon to go live in such a condition to help mask the fact that the game has very little content overall.
I'm chalking it up to classic developer "my vision is pure and perfect" hubris. That or they were under the impression their content was engaging enough for people to overlook it.
The more I hear about this game, the more I'm glad I bought a PC instead of a PS4.
the Cryptarch himself suddenly acquired a personality.
The personality of a crack addict who tricks players by sleight of hand and gives them the wrong weapons. He dismantles the legendaries for crack glimmer.
Well I guess the Cryptarch "developing a personality" as either an incompetent idiot or a trickster jackass could be considered a positive addition... somehow.
i can't wait to go home and try this with my kids,
Agree. I was galled by that bit in the update they posted earlier this week:
Is this the Thunderfeet guy that the fedorabros actually take seriously? I hope he gets banned from the entire privately-held internet. He's basically a misogynist version of a 9/11 Truther, but someone even less credible.
Hell, he somehow doesn't realize that "free speech" is a right only guaranteed in…
The view is why I am not buying this game. I just can't enjoy the perspective enough. Shame because I tried it for a few minutes and otherwise it seems to control very nicely. Maybe because I can only see with 1 eye, in video games I want to feel like my view isn't limited?
The more I read about Destiny, the more I think that neither Activison nor Bungie themselves ever had a real plan for it.
My class:
Yeah I mean I have my genres I really like but I try to keep an open mind to new types of games that aren't my thing. but I play tons of shooters and action RPGs so this should be right up my alley, and this game appears to fail at being interesting in both of those categories. I wish that wasn't the case but for…
why are any of us here!? (went philosophical on dat azz)
beta had the opposite effect on me.
no i played it. i played it to the level cap and then some, along with some of the competitive multiplayer (crucible right?) it seemed very generic. I'll admit the graphics are pretty, and the dancing is pretty hilarious especially in the right context. However, the main core game mechanics of shooting vs enemy AI…
Yeah I cant quite put my finger on what it is, and I'm really not the pickiest when it comes to coop shooters (and I dont mind AAA shooters), but I just can't muster any excitement for this game after watching a few gameplay videos.
I've played the beta and thought the exact same thing. The mechanics are good but I need more than mechanics to suck me in.
