I agree. It turns me off in that it seems uninspired, and therefore makes me wonder if the rest of the game will feel half-assed. I know I'm being presumptuous, but a game shouldn't turn me off at face value - at least not one I want to play.

Because Sony is trying to focus indie games onto their newer platforms(PS4, PS Vita). Which is lame, because I feel the same way you do: This game could run on any of the current consoles/handhelds.
