The Green Mile especially. God dammit I hate that absolute turd of a movie. It is not good, and people need to stop acting like it’s anything but blatant (and failed) pandering for Academy Awards.

You dopes always seem to love bringing up Black Panther as though race-swapping that character is the same as race-swapping any other character. I’ll try to make this simple enough that even you can understand:
There has never been an answer to the question of what’s wrong with making Aragorn non-white that didn’t ultimately boil down to plain racism. Even if Tolkien envisioned him as white (which he certainly would have), his skin colour doesn’t matter. It’s not an inherent characteristic that affects anything about who he…
That’s a weird assumption to make. On the one hand, I wouldn’t really care what they do, because it doesn’t hurt anyone either way. On the other hand, if I was interested in collecting these, yes, I’d be annoyed by old man Frodo or teenage spotty Aragorn (unless these versions were specifically chosen for flavour…
Exactly. Whatever crime a cop commits is vastly worse and more damaging to society than a crime committed by a regular citizen, because the breach of trust is so severe. Covering up for them should be considered equally bad.
Changing Frodo to an old man or Aragorn to a 5-year-old boy would change intrinsic qualities of their characters, and the story could not logically play out the same way if those changes were made. Changing Aragorn’s skin colour though? That changes nothing. Hell, it wouldn’t even change the description of him in the…
Yeah, I played it when it came out. It was alright. The story was not great, and it was basically completely on rails, but it scratched my itch for a little while (then). I’d play it again if I could get it on Xbox Series X.
And if I wanted to play a 16-year-old (or any) MMO I would look into that, but I’m specifically talking about a single-player narrative-driven RPG.
There’s more to player agency than moral ambiguity, so even if the game setting was as black-and-white as the fiction (which you’re overstating), that doesn’t mean that there’s no choices to be made or interesting stories to tell.
We want an RPG set in a relatively faithful adaptation of Middle Earth, with a compelling narrative and player choice. Why we keep not getting that is beyond me. FFS.
Yeah, it’s much less that teenage boys are “categorically unrapeable” as it is that cisgender, straight, white women categorically cannot be rapists according to these people.
The right wing (and most of the geriatric “left” wing Democrats) have internalized the idea that the USA is a hard-right country, and that the Trump base represents the “real” America and the majority of the country. This is why these idiot right wingers keep falling on their faces whenever they try to use their…
Wait, are you implying that lawmakers ANYWHERE are focusing on helping trans citizens to the detriment of others?
Standing up to Catholic bigotry is the same thing as anti-Catholic bigotry, according to Marco Rubio. You can’t win against this kind of logic. All you can really do is laugh at them when you can, and punch them in the face when you can’t.
It’s not that you’re wrong, but do you honestly believe in your heart of hearts that the Biden administration has the courage to actually wield the power and authority granted by the constitution?
Nothing about the Witcher makes it a sandbox game.
The parable of the good Samaritan is about a man who helped someone who badly needed help and was being ignored by the people who should have been helping him; this story is literally the polar opposite of the parable, and a stark example of the absolute moral, ethical, and religious bankruptcy of the Republican Party…
To be fair, while Celine Dion met Rene Angelil when she was 12, by all accounts I’ve seen they didn’t form a romantic relationship until she was 20, and married when she was 25. Still pretty icky though.
He dated a 15-year-old when he was twice her age, knocked her up, and married her.
The French judge dropped the charges for lack of evidence, not because he was proven innocent. The accuser is currently pursuing a complaint against the judge in question.
