Since that movie was made by Sony, not Marvel or Disney, why would they owe anything?

The Expos had no problems whatsoever getting Anglo-Canadians to cheer for them before they lost the rights to broadcast west of Quebec, leaving the majority of the country unable to watch them. I’d wager that the majority of English-speaking Canadians outside of southern Ontario would rather root for a Montreal team

You’ve got a great point there. Honestly, Star Wars isn’t really that important. If you’d asked me 20 years ago whether I’d ever feel Star Wars is irrelevant, I doubt I’d be able to comprehend the idea. But now, it’s basically dead. They’ll keep making movies, but they’ll never be remotely as influential or formative

Then don’t put that one on?

Better still, their fresh experience can rejuvenate the movies for you.

“<such and such> is not for the weak” is the battle cry for assholes who don’t want to be called out for being assholes. Also, anyone who uses the term “snowflake” to describe someone who doesn’t like assholes is also an asshole.

It’s not insincere. Being nice to people doesn’t make you fake, it makes you nice. And it makes you feel better about yourself and the rest of the world. There is no downside to acting like a decent person.

I agree parents shouldn’t force their own childish obsessions onto kids halloween costumes, except for kids three and under. Go right ahead and put your three-year-old in a xenomorph costume, because that’s frigging adorable.

I have several friends who have struggled with this question over the last five years. My thing is this: no parents were curating their kids’ Star Wars experience back when the originals came out, other than deciding whether or not to take them to the theatre or rent them the movie. None of us grew up being told to

Every sport has this issue to some extent. Some manager or coach will come up with a novel tactic that works, but makes the game less fun to watch. Sooner or later the tactic becomes so widespread that they have to start thinking up ways to change the rules to eliminate it for the good of the sport.

If Venezuala was the only socialist country in the world, then maybe this would be a good point. Almost every first-world country on Earth has socialist labor policies.

The Japanese companies also use union labour.

The largest reason unions are not as popular today as they were in previous generations is that they’ve been under attack by the corporations that have owned both parties in the USA for several decades now. Unions and strong labour laws still exist in many first-world countries.

No one thinks unionization is easy. Also, some places have laws that prevent that sort of thing from happening (though those protections are under heavy attack everywhere).

It’s one of the barriers to unionization, and also why it needs to happen. Any industry where people are willing to work themselves to death for no significant reward is ripe for exploitation.

My ex-wife has many, many tattoos. I didn’t like the ones she had before we got together, and I didn’t like any of the ones she got while we were together. The worst was when she’d come home with a new one and I’d have to act like I didn’t hate it, even though I did.

I am not a perfect person. I have absolutely terrible thoughts that run through my mind, and one of the most common is when I see pictures on my FB feed of friends’ babies with captions about how cute or adorable they are, when they are actually very ugly. It actually makes me feel really bad because I assume that I’m

This is a fanciful view of the world. You will not get money and success out of being exploited into working 60+ hour work weeks for peanuts. All you will get is burned out until you can’t do it anymore.

Enjoy your burnout and mental breakdown. That’s the only reward you’ll get with that attitude.

This is the reaction of a child.
